I was saying to DH last night i actually don't mind the sickness in a way as it reminds me my little bean is strong, growing and here to stay. I am 6 weeks tomoro and already have a little bump, i noticed my work trousers were a little tight yesterday. Feels strange as obviously showed much later with DD. A colleague has revealed my pregnancy to my manager so i'll have to go and see her on monday - might ask for some bigger uniforms!

Have £110 received in my Quidco account now so hopefully that will be paid into my account early March. Think we could aim for a £500 O/P in March now:j The rest can go towards the car repair bill. Got my overtime shift tomorrow too which will help us out in March.

DH on his way home from work and DD only had a little sleep this afternoon so hopefully a pleasant evening ahead.

that's lovely though showing at 6 weeks, for someone who never showed either time, I think it's great. :D

I think I was just odd in pregnancy, no showing, no symptoms, no tiredness, no feeling baby moving, working til 40 weeks. Think I maybe had an easy time of it:rotfl:

I didn't feel pregnant either time though, so wasn't at all getting anything ready. With DD2 I forgot to tell people until I was over 26 weeks, as no one had mentioned it so I just didn't. That was a bit odd.

I have a definite little bump, i love it! Am absolutely exhausted though but have finished my shifts and have 2 days off now. Will try and catch up on emails, surveys and diaries on here. DH gets paid thurs and me next week so can also work out next months outgoing. CC bill was a little larger than i expected  Can't see next month being expensive though. I may also catch up on some sleep too!

Well, i've completed wasted my days off  absolutely no energy to do anything including working out what we can spare from wages which i often look forward to! (am i alone in that?)

Surveys are pretty quiet but did have £110 from Quidco and £16.78 from Amazon land in current account this morning.

We do have £2500 on a 0% CC which finishes in Sept, I never thought we'd pay it all back by then but think we need to hammer it down a bit. Overpaying the mortgage is soooo addictive though. I just feel if i've already set a target i.e OP by £500 this month i can't back down!

We also need some emergency savings too but i keep making the mortgage the priority. I know i can take the savings amount of the mortgage debt for psychological benefit but it's not the same as seeing the balance come down.

Did a quick tax credits check earlier to see if we would qualify for help with childcare costs when baby number 2 arrives, it seems earning £38k is too much. I played with the calculator and we would only qualify if income dropped under 30k. We would probably be in a better position if DH drastically reduced his hours - that's just so defeatist!

DH was meant to be off today but last minute got sent on a course in Milton Keynes (a 4 hour drive away), that scuppered my plans for a family day today!

Right, have worked out the finances:
Can overpay by £500, pay a £250 CC bill and after all expenses including food and petrol have £180 left for spending which i think is plenty.

Have worked out if we can continue to OP £300 a month (not factoring in rate rises) we can be mortgage free January 2023 (i would be 40 and DH 46, DD 15 and new baby 12) so that all sounds wonderful!! Maybe the extra money saving bits i do (cashback, surveys etc) could help us reach that goal a bit quicker?
It's very strange to think that owing around £40k is years away when that's all my first mortgage was! Those were the days!

I'm the same with OP. I wanted to OP £260 this month but there's no way we can manage it with the wedding. Realistically I'm going to be lucky not to nick back the OP money and use it for expenses, but hey ho, next month is another month.
  • You both sound like you are having one of those months like i had a few of. It will come back together. We just have to keep each other going when it is not following the plan.
  • I'm with you CathT, the mortgage seems like my biggest priority and I am DESPERATE to OP it. However, we have had so many expenses this month, paint, new blinds, bed, festival tickets, that I have had to take some out of savings to stay afloat. But it will all come together, I'm sure of it.

What a pain about OH having training course today. Have you got time together this weekend?
