I agree, your OH should definitely have a job he prefers rather than the money that makes him unhappy.
Hope your sickness stays off today. Ooh a baby scan, they are brilliant arent they. How excitingMPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

It is so worth dropping some money, to ensure the happiness of your DH...plus like you say, he will have more time at home and the time he can spend helping with the family is priceless!!
I know what you mean about keeping up with the diaries...I could spend the whole day on here just catching up...only manage to follow a few or I would never get anything done!!"A smile takes but a moment...
...but the memory of it lasts forever"0 -
You are all so right, family is what's important. Nausea so much better, feel better after being sick at the weekend! Still have the odd moment but it's nothing like what it was. I'm 8 weeks today according to midwives revised dates but i think i'm closer to 9. Odd tho, as my symptoms really kicked in at 9 weeks with DD.
Well, DH got the job! :jAm so proud of him. They reinterviewed a few people so he has been the best candidate twice! I think he has to give a months notice to current employer but he is going to verbally tell him today he is leaving and see if he will compromise on a date. He'll put it in writing once he has the offer in writing.
I was thinking about the drop in pay and i'm not sure we'll really notice it if that makes sense. DH currently gets paid 4 weekly but i think £2k over a year when paid monthly won't seem much different. Either way, him being home by 4pm each day makes it worth it. Childcare will be much less stressful now. It also means we will only be stuck for a couple of hours at a weekend if i work a late shift so opens up childcare options.
Mortgage goes out today, also sent a £500 OP which i'm really pleased about. Decided the boiler wasn't an emergency as it's working well now, got homecare cover and we can't afford a new kitchen for a looong time anyway! Got to make the most of these low interest rates!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
:T Well done to your hubby!

Thanks Iris and Grateful, life will be so much better when he's working less.
Well, as my sig suggests the mortgage balance now stands at £115,823.36 :j that feels like a big achievement as mortgage was £6k more than that last June.
Tried to see how many months i have saved but couldn't get SS to work it out, i need the one Pammy is using! Ultimately my target is to get mortgage under 100k by end of 2012 and i do think it's possible. Really need to sort some savings out too, OP is oh so tempting tho!
Think i'm not too far off payout on a few surveys and accounts not looking too bad with payday 2 weeks away. It really is amazing how far you can make money stretch when you are focussed and careful.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Thank you!
Not feeling too bad thaks Yukkibear, not sure why i haven't been on here tho - possibly a time issue mixed in with tiredness! Have actually been on a week off too but have worked 2 days of it. Am going to try and keep my overtime money separate. Get paid next week and have a bit of OT in that too so will use it to pay the balance on our holiday.
DH starts his new job next thursday - i can't wait! Also means we have the day off together for our wedding anniversary on tuesday which will be nice.
Both our paydays are appoaching so i can sort out next months OP, also need to put some in savings too! Have added a fair bit to survey balances so hopefully get some paid out next month. Think I have £30 due from Quidco too so that will help and £20 is also due from an Amazon sale - it all adds up!
Pregnancy wise as feeling a lot better, still tired and fall asleep regularly on the sofa late evenings much to DH's amusement! Am 10 weeks today, it seems to be going quite quickly now!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Had a lovely day with DH and DD, it's our wedding anniversary today and it's been great spending quality time together. Treated ourselves to lunch out which although not very MSE isn't something we do often and £12.50 isn't going to spoil the MF dream!
OnePoll was really busy today so DH nearly at payout on there. Have requested £10 from MySurvey and £30 Quidco money has been sent to my account so this can be sent to the mortgage. Got some DVD boxsets to sell but not sure whether to use Amazon or Ebay. Have picked up some extra overtime shifts in work too over the coming weeks so that extra money will be very handy!
Tonight is the first night i have missed wine! May have to buy some Schloer!!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
