Still working on dh, he has already drunk the wine!!

I am off to a spa day today so need to get ready in a minute as we are aiming to be there for 9am. Planning to hit the gym in the morning then completely relax afterwards. Have packed a a couple of books but I think there will be a lot of catching up as not seen these girlfriends for ages and a lot has been happening. Am intrigued to see the snow room there though and have an hour massage booked too.

Supermarket spends are fairly low £46.09 so far for the month. I cant be bothered analysing this further for true food spends as we buy our cleaning products and other non food items from the supermarket. If we come in at £250 for all I will be pleased though.

Right, I had best get moving!

Hi CathT, that spa day sounds like it's going to be amazing! Hope you have a fantastic time :)

In terms of groceries, we're on super similar amounts right now! Aiming to keep it below £250 for the whole month, and have currently spent £48. On track at the moment, we'll see how that holds up :)

Food spends up to £64. We really have had such an expensive month and the cb landing today has barely made a dent! Think I may have to transfer some money back out of savings.

Found £10 whilst sorting through receipts at the weekend (it has been in that pile for months!) but owed it to dh as I asked him for money at dd football competition. I bought Ice lollies for all the team and siblings as it was so hot. A huge amount of profit was made on them by the hosting team!

Have been trying to decide whether to decorate the lounge ourselves and we have decided to do it. Well, I will on my week off in a couple of weeks. Just need to get company to measure up for blinds and can get rid of the curtains we have had up for the last 13 years! Am going to have a picture wall of a mixture of frames family photos, inspirational quotes and pictures made by craft pages. I am hopeful my basic eye for design will be good enough.

Dh got offered a new job this week but turned it down as they couldnt best his salary and although the hours were generally better, we would have spent a fortune on after school childcare and lost our weekends together. I have suggested to him he starts work slightly later but he likes having a real before picking the children up from school. You cant have it all though. Staying up for the matches midweek will result in very little sleep for him though!

Blue skies have disappeared here this morning. I miss the sunshine already!

    Supermarket spends £82.52
    Fuel spends £70.

I was in a bit of a panic yesterday as only had 25 miles left and I never drive in the red. Fuel near work is so expensive though which is why I didnt full up earlier.

Cloudy here this morning, I even need the lights on and we have had a few spots of rain overnight. The ground is so dry though and we desperately need it so I shant complain.

Think I have overdone the savings and socialising this month. We are in our overdraft and payday 11 days away! Will have to siphon some funds back from savings.

Really should be getting some steps in before work but despite an earlier night than if late I am absolutely shattered. Still hitting at least 10k steps and also did weights last night. Sticking to compound movements for better results but theyre harder work!!

Hello everyone. Have had a few days away to focus on things happening at home. Had a family bereavement but value the support we give each other here so am back posting again. All I can say is, please check in on those suffering with their mental health.

Enjoyed a lovely morning with the children at the weekend as trying to continue to keep that memory bank well and truly filled up for them. Neither of them wanted to go on the walk I planned but they both admitted halfway up the hill that it was actually quite fun. They assume they are right when actually mum often knows best!!

Food spends remain low and we are currently at £100.13. I can!!!8217;t understand how a £500 monthly budget with such low food spends and fuel spends of around £200 runs out before the end of the month.....every month! On paper, the surplus is for holidays!
