It really was wonderful Goldie. One day down, 2 to go!

Am surviving my first day gluten free but quickly realised all the convenience foods I reach for when I need a sugar rush are not gluten free, this should help the waistline. Batch cooked a chilli in the slow cooker yesterday so have had that for lunch and dinner today. DH managed to spend £10 at the supermarket when we only needed rice and bread (he forgot the rice!). Have added 2100 nectar points in last 3 days with another 700 to be added tomorrow.

£2.33 sent to mortgage yesterday with another £8 today as piano lesson is cancelled tomorrow. It feels good to be sending small adhoc payments as can't commit to larger ones at the moment.

Have 3 paint testers ready for patch testing so going to get them on in a minute so we have a few days to decide before finalising details with the decorator. I know it's hardly MSE paying a decorator but we don't like doing it, have little free time and are pretty hopeless at it. DH has started preparations on ds room as we need it almost empty for the work to be done.

Still haven't made a final decision about the paint colours and need to let decorator know tonight. It's only a choice of 3 so hardly rocket science but I'm not feeling particularly decisive!

Got a couple of extra days off this week and lots to do! The idea is to start doing weight workouts again (energy levels permitting), declutter ready for the re-decoration (dh doing an indoor carboot sale this weekend) and spend some time relaxing. It's half term here so we are hoping to take the children out tomorrow which will dent the budget a little but we'll save money where we can. I think dh has a voucher so we only actually need to pay for one of them.

Accounts checked and 80p sent as a tilly tidy. I've checked our spreadsheet and I was hoping we'd be able to resume the standard £300 op this month but have too many financial commitments due to holiday balance being due and decorating being done. However, the mortgage IS being paid and we are making small OP's during this marathon. We will continue to reduce day to day spends and OP anything left over.

Currently on hold to the luggage department at the airport as we lost items during the baggage check last week and they don't seem to have appeared as yet and I'm trying to avoid the hassle and expense of replacing them. Anyone know where I can get cheap but hot and effective hair straighteners?

Check our Zuzka Light's Bunny slope workouts (available on utube) for returning to weight training. Though they may be too easyfor you. But then you could just use heavier weights/go harder...

    Good luck with the straighteners.

I!!!8217;ll have a look at those, thanks apple. I did used to wonder what !!!8216;bunny slopes!!!8217; were on your diary.

80p Tilly tidied to mortgage, £30 spent on an outing for the children tomorrow. Their friendship group is so big and reliable we have booked it as a party! Also gives us all better value for money.

It was worth staying on hold to the luggage dept as our lost items have been found! Our taxi driver is collecting them and said he!!!8217;d try to go today. There!!!8217;ll be a charge of about £6 to the airport but in the grand scheme of things we have now saved a lot of time and money.

Dh stripped the wallpaper off Ds bedroom wall after work and moved everything out of his room. I!!!8217;ve sorted out some old clothes of mine and we now have a good selection for the car boot sale.

Bit worried about Ds, he rarely gets ill but complained about being cold today (he is never cold!) watched a whole
Film cuddled up with me and nearly fell asleep mid sentence speaking to me whilst I read his bedtime story. Has a low grade temp and a cough so I!!!8217;ll
Be keeping a close eye on him. Last time he sounded !!!8216;croupy!!!8217; he made a miraculous recovery in a matter of hours!

Hope your Ds feels better there is so much going around at the moment.

Glad the trip was a success (especially the bit about the kids being missed -result ;)) this could become a regular thing then? :D

He doesn!!!8217;t seem too bad this morning :)

Hoping so NG, my mum has asked if dd wants a sleepover at her house tonight as well. They must have made a very good impression.

£15.40 found in tcb account so will OP that once it arrives. £60 spent in @ldi yesterday and £2.50 at charity shop on books for dd and me.

Thankfully I!!!8217;ve managed to shift an awful headache I woke with in the early hours. If I wasn!!!8217;t waiting for a b*gas man I might have done a workout!

Nearly caved on the gluten free yesterday but in reality it just meant I wanted to eat rubbish. I!!!8217;m not doing it for weight loss but it!!!8217;s having that affect too. Keep meaning to start a !!!8216;wellbeing!!!8217; page in my BuJo so I!!!8217;ll start that this morning to keep track - any excuse to get the sharpies out!

I!!!8217;ve lost just over a stone since Christmas after going gluten free, it ems to have stalled this past week but thats not a problem, it is making me feel so much better. No indigestion or reflux, no sinus issues and no afternoon energy slumps. I use gluten free bread for my morning toast and have tried the gluten free pasta and puff pastry, both are nice, did make some muffins using GF flour and they were lovely warm from the oven but went very dry the next day. We are not really snackers so I dont feel the need to buy lots of GF extras, a bit of fruit or a bowl of jelly will do if I get a sweet craving.

    Keep it up!

Did you decide on your hall colours? I want to wall paper mine but wall papering big drops like that on my own are a bit terrifying - I think I!!!8217;ll just stick to paint.

That!!!8217;s impressive Pooky, I have persistent low iron and fatigue but a negative blood test for coeliac. I!!!8217;m wondering if I!!!8217;m gluten sensitive and I read a great article this week about the effect on neurological rather than digestive health. A colleague made some GF brownies this week which were amazing!

We!!!8217;ve chosen chic shadow and warm pewter (for feature wall). Hall etc will be dual tone too. It took me ages to decide as I did t want to go too light so that it didn!!!8217;t look !!!8216;done!!!8217;. I would have liked wallpaper on stairs but would have cost a lot extra! Decorator starts Monday, we!!!8217;re having a bedroom, hall stairs and landing, utility and shower room (ceiling only) done so it!!!8217;s quite a big job.

Seem to gave an energy boost this morning, however I have only worked 3 days this week and the sun is shining. Im going to chance line drying some bedding.

  • I've got washing out on the line today too - it's very cold but quite breezy some I'm hoping it will dry a little even if it doesn't dry fully. So pleased that you managed to get your lost items back. Hope DS is on the mend.

  • I think it IS MSE to hire a decorator, if they are going to achieve a better finish than you (or I) would.

This is your biggest investment you're decorating. X
