It must have been the tiny amount of cornflour my mum would have used. I am shocked it had that effect. Definitley not changing it again.
I do not even see the decorator, he leaves no mess and all I see is progress, it is like magic!! Hope yours progresses soon, it is tough when you have so much going on.
Writing without an apostrophe is annoying! Had to go back and edit my post before posting.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Cornflour is gluten free, so it wasn't that. Did she use a stock cube?NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Oh I assumed it did. That is interesting to know. Yes she would have used some stock. The tiredness has affected me today aswell. Wonder what it could have been?
Home from work and house looking amazing! Decorator will finish tomorrow but I think it is mostly woodwork to finish off.
Feeling very ready for the weekend and have a super busy day to get through tomorrow. Roll on lunch time when I!!!8217;ll be on the last leg!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Sent my mum a random text and it turns out she used an oxo cube. Surely that little ingredient couldn!!!8217;t have this effect. It!!!8217;s literally the only change in my diet yesterday. Drank similar amount of water, ate healthily but bam the fatigue hit me straight after eating stew!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

Yes, it can have such a big effect. It is a poison to your body, m'dear!
Hope you are feeling chirpier.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Rookie mistake! Am logging my fatigue/energy levels in my bujo and have made a note of the sneaky oxo cube! Despite a negative blood test for CD maybe I am managing to find an explanation for my chronic fatigue and rubbish iron levels. Are both you and dd sufferers Apple?
Taxi driver has dropped off my lost items. I am not particularly image conscious but being reunited with my hair straighteners and certain make up items has made today feel like Christmas!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Yes Cath, both dd and I are diagnosed coeliac. She also has CMPA - cow's milk protein allergy, so has to avoid dairy too. Given that 2 out of the 3 of us are coeliac, dh - who can eat any and everything - has to keep his goodies in a tin to avoid any cross-contamination! We have separate toasters and his bread never touches the bread board.
You get used to it!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Oxo cubes are very bad! But a lot of supermarket own brand stock cubes are ok. We buy ASDA.
Just a quick question - you were still eating gluten when you had the CD test right?
Also remember that small crumbs can cause issues. If pans are not squeaky clean, or you use butter that someone else had spread bread with etc. It's a royal pain in the backside to get used to.
In some ways, the awkward things are foods/drinks that sometimes contain gluten and sometimes don't. You have to think much harder about it. Bread is bad, fine. Oxo cubes are bad, but ASDA own brand are fine. Crips are mostly fine but McCoys and some Sensations are fine. Sweets are mostly fine but you need to check because Waitrose own brand ALL contain wheat starch. Etc. etc.
You get very used to reading packets.0 -
And once you are used to reading all the packets, you learn to re-read those that until then you have known to be 'safe', as a changed packaging often means changed ingredients (looking at you, aldeee chilli sauces....)

Will definitely be reading labels and thinking what might have gone into food I am eating.
Decorating finished and we love the result, definitely worth paying for. Payday for me this week so necessary transfers done and payday for dh next week. Not that it means much as we need a frugal month. This feels like a regular requirement but we have been a bit spendy of late.
I have had my haircut this morning £14 spent. Am off out with friends this evening so am looking forward to that and as it is a one off will not think about how much I am spending. It is meat and drinks but no taxis involved.
Having a lazy day at home, dh did most of the sorting it when I was at the hairdressers. It is so cold I cannot face going out. We are not even in the East so dread to think how cold it is for some of you. Stay warm and safe when the snow arrives.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
