Good morning all. I am feeling very fresh after my night out despite several cocktails, was home by midnight so not out too late. Spent about what I expected £60 ish and had a brilliant night. Certainly would not spend that on a regular basis though. It is an expensive business being sociable!
Dd has a match today, pitch conditions permitting but other than that no plans. Decorator sending invoice across so I will get that paid today. Might also do an online shop with ikea as there are various units that we want. Our local one is an hour away, we will have to take the children so will have limited space and will no doubt pick up lots of extras walking around so it will be cost effective to pay the delivery charge.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Cocktails is always money well spent  hope ikea is not too hideous on a Sunday!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

They were rather good NG! We went to a secret bar which was great. Felt very fresh after a late night and even managed to do a weight workout for the first time in ages. Did a 40 minutes full body workout using dumbells. Did a variety of exercises included weighted leg raises, goblet squats, burpees with dumbbell raises, obliques. I am definitely feeling it today! 10k steps hit today, was in a meeting most of the morning so pleased with that.
I!!!8217;ve managed to clear a lot of work admin tasks that were starting to stress me out. Also sent emails relating to the completion of my MSc so hoping there aren!!!8217;t too many more hoops to jump through.
No financial activity, we had bought a huge meat bundle off local meat man so that has been portioned up and is in the freezer. Hopefully this will help keep food spends down a bit. Gas and electric costs are better, usage was high last week and think it!!!8217;s due to decorator having a fan to help paint to dry. We spent about £6 on energy yesterday which horrified so glad to see it is less than £3 so far for today. Don!!!8217;t think this cold snap is going to help at all. Few snow flurries today and bitterly cold. The children didn!!!8217;t look too impressed at the end of their swimming lesson so think other outdoor activities may be off this week. Piano lesson tomoro (£5 spent on grade 1 exam pieces book) and maybe we!!!8217;ll get 3 nights off from football!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
On the subject of stock cubes, I use Kallo cubes as they are low in salt, but they are also gluten freeEarly retired - 18th December 2014

I will look out for them, thanks gg.
Well tomorrow is month end again! I was very much looking forward to March and the start of Spring, looks like it is delayed for a while. Nsd today and did a 50p survey. Payday for dh tomorrow so will do more of the money shuffle and see what funds we have left this month.
Have had more quotes from decorator but we can!!!8217;t commit to anything else at the moment. Will save up before getting more work done.
Trying to keep my steps up and managing 10k most days but stuck on 9k today due to a sore hip and I don!!!8217;t want to aggravate it. Bitterly cold here at the moment and a bit of snow this morning. The end of the week is looking bad so can!!!8217;t see any of us venturing much further than school and work.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Well done on the MSc! Hope it is all completed soon.
Hope it's not too cold.0 -
Thanks Michelle, I did say I wouldn't throw myself back into academia but I will kick myself if I don't do it. I have many years left to work and it will be good for progression.
Weather is bitter and although I don't feel the heating is on that much more - we are all out all day but the smart meter doesn't make for pleasant reading. We are using between £5 and £6 a day of energy at the moment. It has snowed pretty much non-stop since I finished work. DH was due to start at 1am but going in later and his commute will be awful. Am expecting the school to be closed so may have the company of my children in work tomorrow.
50p on y0ugov so up to £40 on there now, once I hit payout that is definitely coming off the mortgage. I used to really look forward to the 1st of the month but now our OP's have slowed down (whilst we try to strike the balance of making memories with the children) it's not quite as exciting. Will check online banking tomorrow for figures as can't see that the interest has been added despite our standing orders going out today.
Budget looking slim the rest of the month, fingers crossed we can stretch to 3 bottles of wine tomorrow.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

When I re-trained I did at level 7. The dissertation is all I need to take me up to full MSc in specialist public health nursing.
School remained open so made it to work child free, had a productive day then it started snowing just before we all left the office. Hoping its all coming to an end now and although we havent had a lot its really inconvenient.
Dont plan on venturing far this weekend. Dh is going to ikea in the morning so hopefully we can get rooms organised. Blinds for ds room are coming on Wednesday so hopefully we can get him back in his own room. Think he is pretty comfortable where he is though!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Ooh. Exciting. Is there a deadline for the dissertation?0
