That sounds really interesting CathT, have you picked a dissertation subject yet?
We need to do a meter reading today. I'd really rather not know.0 -
I!!!8217;ve got an academic year to do it and manager will release me from work one day a week. Just need to fit in my work commitments over 4 days. Still need to secure funding but all other documents sent and being processed. I am hoping to do something related to resilience and adverse childhood experiences as it fits in very well with my line of work and it is very current.
Dh has gone to ikea this morning (a 45 minute drive) and the main units we wanted are out of stock until Wednesday! He is happy to go back then but I really wanted to get organised this weekend. Cannot be helped but it is a little frustrating.
Current accounts checked and budget needed. We are over the hump in terms of paydays as next money due into current account on 20th then I get paid soon after. Food/petrol account looking healthy so hoping we will have some surplus funds in there at month end.
Scales are going the wrong way so I am off to do a workout and try and forget that I may need to give up wine!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
In answer to your question on my thread, yes I have given up wine and that has contributed greatly to the weight loss I think. It has been strange as I really missed it at first, however as time passed I haven't craved it at all - a bit like when you're pregnant and know you can't have wine, so you don't seem to want it anymore.
That, combined with not eating any processed carbs and not eating after 6.30pm, seem to be the most important factors xMFW

Thanks atb, I have it up for 12 weeks last year and didnt miss it at all after the first couple of weeks. It really is just an ingrained Friday habit.
Ds room is looking great. We moved a unit into dd room when it was being decorated and will leave it in her room. We have moved his bed into the alcove and moved a unit so there is much more floor space. We had bought some avengers prints from a recent comic event we went to so have put them in ikea frames and they look great. The white frames against the grey wall looks really good. Just need to get him a new light shade and once the blinds are fitted on Wednesday it will be finished. We borrowed a small unit from dd room rather than buying anything new and will also move a 2 tier shelf unit from our room to house some of his toys.
94p Tilly tidy inspired by jimmy this morning. £2 bridge toll paid (dh has no idea why the sat nav took him that way!). I cannot see the added interest to the mortgage this month for some reason so will update spreadsheet when it is clearer.
Workout done, 10k steps walked. Calories hit and macros not too far off. Not bad for first day back in the zone.
Settling down to watch tv with dh now, one episode of his series followed by an episode of mine. All about compromise since he has wine and I do not!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Ooh exciting news about the MSc Cath, the topic you've chosen for your dissertation sounds really interesting too.:)

Thanks MG, just hope everything goes to plan.
Well we have had a productive weekend. Both children went to a party yesterday so dh and I between us got lots done. £104 spent in ikea and a bedroom sorted. Dh worked OT today, ds had a party and I finished off his room moving the unit from our room. We also bought a new houseplant from ikea, have the same one in the family area and now have one in the hall I cannot believe how much difference some greenery makes to a space. It will look even better with new units in place. Dd has been consistent with piano practice and is sounding great and enjoying it more.
Top up shop at c0-Op but have literally just realised I may have missed out on cash back by not using current account. Will check if it is still valid tomorrow and me more mindful going forward.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Posted too soon and can see typos!
It feels good starting the working week with the house in order and next payday not too far away. Have a mixed week workwise so expecting it to go quickly and hopefully seamlessly!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Well today flew as expected. I have drunk loads of water, done my 10k steps and tracked my food. Felt quite happy on my morning commute and even found myself singing!
Nsd today which was needed. 94p Tilly tidy over weekend and 48p today.
Think it might be a long week as we are all shattered already.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Good progress in here! I know what you mean about long week ahead, at the minute every week of mine seems that long that its merging into the next!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0

Thanks Jimmy, the weekends are too short aren't they. Hump day tomorrow though!
Made a couple more tt's of 48p and 87p. Sold a unit on bookface which appeared to be in high demand as I was inundated with messages, £30 paid off the t3sco card so in theory it's gone towards the recent ike@ purchases. Out of stock items due back in tomorrow so will hopefully get a text alert and dh will pop for them as soon as he can. How he does everything he does after getting up for work at 3am each day is beyond me!
Budget challenge has been set, £135 to last 13 days. It should be doable and I do love a challenge in the run up to payday.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
