We have got into a terrible habit of having wine on both Friday and Saturday nights PP, definitely a habit ad not needed just to watch tv. Had a lovely evening though and we have all stayed at home today. Football match for dd was cancelled due to the weather and having nowhere to be has been great.
Good to see you MG, I delcuttered far more items than the required 11 today so hopefully have formed some good habits in that area of my life! Will pop across to your diary to see if you've update, I miss your posts.
Today has been productive, we woke up to snow and have had the whole day to ourselves. DH popped out to deliver a shelving unit we sold on fb this morning so £27 made there and going in the decorating pot. Someone coming to see another unit later and there has been lots of interest so hopefully make the expected £30 on that sale. Decorator calling this week to give us a quote. We have friends staying at Easter so ideally I'd like it done by then. Decorator has 10% off until end of Feb so more than likely it will be done sooner.
We are definitely using up the last of the food stores now, dh made meatballs for him and the children and I have made a veg chilli in the slow cooker. It was much tastier than when I do it on the stove and that will provide lunch for me most of the week. I've helped dd with her piano practise and I'm now a dab hand at 'I'm a little teapot' using both hands! :rotfl:June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Sounds like a great today, and glad your clearout is still going well!
Rome can't be that far off now.0 -
Couple more week Michelle. Decluttering still going strong and already done some this morning!
Well we survived until payday but I then transferred £1500 into new n@twest account to meet conditions for £125 payment. Only problem is it’s now stuck there for up to a week as I only had level one security! I’ve managed for now but it’s far from ideal! For anyone opening one this is important to be aware of.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Another food shop done and I'm going to keep recording spends to work out monthly total, January now stands at £132.86.
Tried to transfer money back from n@twest as my mum has given me a card reader but still not working so will try tomorrow as they said it can take up to 48 hours for that. When dh account is up and running, the first thing we will do is order a card reader!
Finally sold the unit I'd advertised on fb and then had to message about 15 people that had enquired. Am sure I could have sold it for more than £30 now. The money was meant to go towards the decorating quote but that's come back at £1170 for large utility, shower room ceiling, large bedroom and hall, stairs and landing (including all paint and materials). I have £57 so far :rotfl:
Had planned to finish my book this evening but I'm falling asleep so going to have an early night instead, goodnight all!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Tried to be productive today but as I didn’t wake up until 9:30am I feel like I’ve been on catch up all day.
Took the children out for milkshake and pancakes as promised, £14 spent and tried to support a local business but tbh we were a bit disappointed. Picked up Rome tickets and paid £20 to book seats. Decided to go ahead with decorating quote after doing some sums so that’s booked for a few weeks time, really looking forward to having it done as the house will be finished! Will get it valued in the Spring to meet my curiosity about its current value.
Think I’m brewing a virus, tickly cough, swollen glands and feel run down. Might make myself a hot chocolate as a bit of self nurturing.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
So nearly there! £57 is better than nothing, just a slow build up.
Yay on the decorating, we're not that far behind you. By the summer hopefully we'll both have beautiful houses.0 -
Can’t wait to have it done Michelle. We’ve been here 13 years (today actually) and only done hall stairs and landing once so it definitely needs it.
A pretty average day, dh took dd to her football match, I took both children to a party and dd did a good shop. I’ve lost track of spends somehow but we’re not spending much.
150 point survey on y0ugov which was most welcome. House is clean and tidy, bathroom finally finished and all washing done. Resorted to using the tumble drier for final load to get it all out of the way. I’ve made another veg chilli for work lunches. Decorating job budgeted for and any extra in dh wages this week will be paid off the holiday. Hoping for a very low spend this week. Not going to wish the week away but do hope to bring quality to the week, am hoping now the evenings are getting lighter that will help.
I somehow need to find the energy to increase my steps again and need to stop snoozing my alarm so fingers crossed for bright and sunny mornings to give me a kickstart!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Sore throat lingers on, blood test later and I need to find a way of feeling 35 not 85!!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
