When I went to Rome I saved a nun from getting hit by a tram at the back of the Vatican . So basically I can be as wicked as I want as I'm guaranteed a place in heaven :rotfl:.

The pantheon is on our walking route Michelle so I’ll check it out!

PP, personally I’d prioritise peaky blinders over Rome, it’s that good!!

Thanks new girly, I sense a mini challenge for you! Our stores are running low hence the more regular food shops. I am pleased though, even if you don’t got your target it makes you be even more careful with the spends.

Could only happen to you gally!! Any other recommendations??

    Morning all.

Few plans for today but mostly planning to stay home and recharge. Finding work stressful at the moment so glad it’s the weekend.

Our bathroom is almost finished. Plumber and electrician called back to finish the ceiling but panel didn’t look right so they took it back down and plumber will buy another. Boxing in was done and the tiler called yesterday to tile. We have a spare box of tiles so will return those today and sort out ceiling panel pack refund as we were overcharged. Not sure how much this will be but it will be paid off one of the holidays!

Realised after reading kittenkirst diary there is no c/tax the next two months, ours comes out of Jan and feb pay so I can put that to good use as it will be around £250. I’ve also opened 2 new n@twest accounts as there is a £125 switch offer. Have received various letters, texts and emails and process almost complete so need to check on that.

Have a PPI claim in process and it is company that rely on word of mouth referrals which was a nice change from previous experiences. It has be such a smooth process so fingers crossed we hear something in the next couple of weeks. They estimate a 2-4 week time frame and we are a week in. Will keep you posted!

Dh has also had a claim ongoing since last February due to an injury he sustained and they have come back with an amount they are going to ask for so that’s all systems go!

Non financial tasks for today are to clear the mound of washing. Dh and I don’t know where it’s all come from as he generally does a couple of loads during the week. Continue with decluttering, I missed yesterday so have 25 items to do today. Also need to do some more planning for Rome and work out if we need a whole day for the Vatican and how we will get there. I’m happy to walk taking in sights along the way if it’s ‘do-able’

I've been to Rome for the day on a cruise, and would love to go back one day. We only had time for an overview, and we couldn't go in St Peters as there was a special ceremony that day to celebrate the 500 Anniversary of the founding of the Swiss Guard.

I used to enjoy de-cluttering, its so liberating make space. Although my real decluttering was done a couple of years ago, this year will include some re-organisation, so I'm quite looking forward to that.

It'll be good to get the bathroom finished. This is something we will need to do at some point, but that point is at least 2/3 years away!

I think we will visit again, hopefully with the children. I am also toying with the idea of us all going on a cruise to see more sites. De-cluttered my 25 items today, a bit of a random and adhoc approach but the end result was the same. Am sure we have plenty of stuff left for me to repeat the challenge. Have decided to try and sell two units we have on fb tomorrow. One is in the hall and has a cupboard for shoes and shelves which are usually cluttered but now pretty bare after my efforts. As the hall is so tiny and the unit wuite high it makes it a bit oppressive in there. We also have a 'shaby chic' style shelving unit on the landing which again has stuff on it for the sake of it really. 1kea have a new t0mnas range and am thinking of getting the 4 cube ones as replacements. Delivery is extortionate and although our nearest one is only about 30 miles it's not the nicest route.

Another food shop has taken our current spends to £103.41/100 and whilst it's over budget it's not bad for 3 weeks worth of food shopping. Without the challenge and dh being on board it would definitely have been higher. This has also provided lunches for us all and for school meals for the children that would be £5 a day.

Dh returned the tiles and the refund has been paid off the holiday balance, I also paid what was left in the current account off the card as I have £20 in my purse, we both have fuel and it's payday Tuesday. Sent enough money to m&s and new n@twest account to cover this month's direct debits just in case something happens during the switch so will have an additional £40 to be transferred when that is sorted out. 50p on y0ugov and despite lots of notifications I only had one available survey so I need to start responding to emails more quickly or just checking more often as I am missing out.

Did some more Rome planning today and have booked a free walking tour and have some ideas for our day in the Vatican City. Also have some ideas of what to do with our evenings and how to eat fairly cheaply. I think we will walk everywhere and when I've checked distances of the places we want to visit it seems that nothing is that far away really and all in walking distances and mostly within 20 minutes of our hotel.

Had a catnap after dinner which surprised me as been okay for a couple of weeks and I only have about a weeks worth of iron supplements left. However, dh has poured me a glass of wine, the children have been in bed since 7:30pm so time to log off and relax.
