Have updated mfitT4 and although not in the green hopefullynot too far behind.
Today has felt a bit surreal! Woke at 1:30am and got up around 4am. My mum visited which was lovely and saw us up until lunchtime and then dh sent me back to bed when he got home. I had a 2 hour nap, temporarily felt dreadful and had a second cup of proper coffee. Took children to the park and the day was gone!
Online Mr S shop done which will be delivered in the morning.
Have text builder to find out when we are meeting so hoping he gets back to must tomorrow. No pennies to Tilly tidy and I still haven't worked out the remaining budget for the month!
Hoping to go strawberry picking tomorrow afternoon (hoping sun comes out) and then swimming altogether on thursday as rain is forecast.
More items sold so sales up to £31 nowfew more things listed but they're not shifting so may pop them in the ever growing charity bag.
My week off is flying!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Another item sold so £3 added to the pot.
Mr S delivery arrived, it is soooo much easier and since I needed some specialist food items saved me hunting around the shops.
Have decided on which savings account to change the children's accounts to. Its a 3 year bond at 3%.
Managed to shave £35 off summer childcare after a conversation with my lovely mum! Have text provider to confirm changes.
The garden is looking very dull, my plants haven't done brilliantly and everything is dying off. Mymsweet peas have never flowered! If I was feeling extravagant I would buy some more plants. Just waiting for the sun to come out and I'm going to take the children strawberry pickingJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Got lots of raspberries yesterday but no so many strawberries. Its right at the end of the season and we have been there quite a few times, prices not reduced though!
Food and petrol spends updated and there's about £7 left of the budget as we are spending more on food due to my plan!
Took the children swimming today, cost about £8 for the 4 of us but children's pool was really busy and too shallow and the main pool was just a bit deep for them. They both enjoyed it thothough although ds tried to be a bit brave and kept abandoning his waddle! It wasn't quite centre parcs standards and made me want to book a holiday!
Two bags for the charity shop have made their way as far as the car. We were going to drop them off today but it didn't happen so dh will do it tomorrow.
Haven't quite managed to achieve everything I wanted to this week. I had a vision the children would play nicely and appreciate the days out and I'd also have a clutter free house and a completely crossed off 'to do' list!
Builder hopefully calling tomorrow so need to get the paperwork together to show him and see where we go from here.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Busy day here.
Did the supermarket tour to minimise spends and maximise rewards. Mr m had sent us an offer if we spend over £30 we get £5 worth of points and we also get 10% cash back using current account at the moment. Refused to pay their prices for some things so popped to @ldi for remaining bits as needed petrol anyway.
Treated myself to a new vase from Mr m, I've wanted a wide neck one for ages and spotted the perfect one for £5. Waited until I got to @ldi to buy the flowers.
Dh has cut the lawns and hedges at the back today but his efforts were cut short when he discovered a wasps nest in the hedge in the front garden.
I'll have to ring the council on Monday.
50p on y0ugov today and already back over £3 whilst waiting for payout to arrive.
I'm starting to flag now as did an intense hour workout this morning so think half hour sit down wit my book should be my second treat of the dayJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Just gone through my receipts to check total spends for July and it's a good job I did! Mr M have charged me £8 for some razors priced up at £3 something. Dh can take them back on his way home from work tomorrow.
<almost> bought some rattan furniture for the garden earlier as saw what I thought was a good deal in @ldi. Had a browse on the bay of e to compare prices and have decided to wait. We won't get much use out of it now and the garden is going to become a building site at the end of the year!
Relaxing evening planned, as long as I can stay awake!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Well done for checking, it was worth it then! Hope the nest gets dealt with quickly!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Refund issued
Have found dh pension paperwork so will ask him to ring up tomorrow to increase his pension contribution. He has worked 7 hours overtime today so should have a really good pay cheque in August. We may actually spend this overtime money rather than paying it off 0% cc as he's celebrating a big birthday next month :DD
Cheque written for holiday club - £355!!!
My week off work has flown, had a good break from work and lovely days with the children. Back in work for a few more weeks before I am off again :jJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Morning all.
August 1st already! Where did July go? I always feel September ,1st is like new year for us on MFW and I'm looking forward to setting new goals as we will have a clearer idea about our additional borrowing and can make a plan :DD
Signature updated and we have reduced mortgage by £570 and wiotw figure by £857 this month which I'm really pleased with. We have had a particularly expensive month paying for childcare and buying a new bed. Not to mention all the food I'm buying in an effort to be lean!
If we can overpay an extra £60 this month we will hit a mortgage balance of 85,999 in September so I think its worth doing and then can see how far away the 84k balance is.
Plans for the next couple of weeks are very minimal spends, there may be some money shuffling before the end of the month!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
I'm a bit like that with working in education, academic years are more of a new start than January.
Well done on your wiotw reduction - awesome!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
