The extension sounds fabulous cath and it seems like quite a lot of work for the price. I'd live a big extension across the back of ours for a huge kitchen diner but was guessing at least 50-60k ish, perhaps it would be less then.
My dd had her ears pierced at 10 and I think it was about £35 at the time which was a shockMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Well we have had a productive weekend. Dh has found some motivation and re-organised the kitchen and rearranged the playroom. Dh has also done overtime today and prepped some meals for the week ahead!
Swimming lessons for Ds today and he was exhausted afterwards! They are small classes and they do A LOT of swimming!
Mortgage paperwork ready to be posted tomorrow and I'm going to try and put together some questions we should probably be asking the builder. Then we will get in touch and hopefully provisionally booked.
Relaxing evening ahead half watching the football and reading diaries. Dh was a gem and did everything earlier whilst I sat and watched most of the Murray game! What a match!
Money news? Small food shop done and spends updated, picked another courgette from the garden and dh is going to enquire about a bonus he is possibly missing out on in work.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Dd's ears are healing nicely and she's managing well having them cleaned and turned a few times a day.
All busy here, decided on our builder after having quotes ranging from 38-56k. Got in touch and hopefully start the work at the end of September :j Building regulations were passed too so will get them printed off ready for our meeting with the builder.
Made a couple of Tilly tidies of 38p and 60p and need to check account today. 7 days until payday which is a 5 week month for dh which always helps! Mortgage paperwork returned so hopefully get regular texts from them soon to notify us how things are progressing.

Thanks lulabelle. Building regs paperwork arrived today which saves me printing it out. Mortgage company have requested a letter from dh employer which is fine and am seeing it as a positive as it means they are processing mortgage paperwork!
We will still need to pay out for structural engineer which is about £250 and building site inspection fee which is about £350.
84p tilly tidy today and £4.73 leftover in a bills account so paid off t3sco card. Unfortunately that's creeping up but will pay off what we have spend when dh gets paid next week.
Inohter good news, dh chased up the bonus at work and it seems he is entitled to a weekly bonus! We are going to split it so that's a little extra to the mortgage.
Its been a horrible week and I feel pretty drained. I've never been so glad it's Friday. So glad in fact I'm going to have a glass of wine. My first in almost 2 months!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
