  • Glad you are feeling better. When does the work begin?
  • Hi Cath, just popping out of lurkdom.

Have you tried the horrible history books and Gruesome science books, these can be challenging reading but good fun as they contain lots of yucky facts which kids love and they are learning at the same time, so its win win. I used to find that I could often pick them up at car boots/charity shops for pennies.

Thanks SHS :) fingers crossed the end of September. Builder was going on holiday just after he popped round recently so fingers crossed he is back in touch with something in writing soon.

Hi pwps, thanks for dropping by. It really is about finding a book they'll engage with isn't it. We read the latest g00sebumps together and I bought her some more but they're just not graslng her attention. Have big hopes for David Walliams too. WillWill have a look at horrible histories, often find good bundles on selling sites too.

Busy evening yesterday. Mortgage paperwork read and signed. Will post it on my way to work.

    79p Tilly tidy.

Spreadsheets amended and need to set a new target. We will be overpaying at least £170 a month based on existing overpayment and new mortgage payments each month :) good to know we are not living beyond our means :)

Online shop and that will be delivered later this afternoon.

Window company called and will complete quote over next few days. Its a local business and its refreshing not to have the high pressure selling of ' only I can offer you this deal and you must sign now!'

    Happy Friday :j

£2 in the bank...??payday on Friday!! Might be some simple living until then kicked off by not buying wine for dh! If I had any cash I would have sent an overpayment!

Am stumped over where to re-invest the children's savings. They don't have a lot (dd has about £700 and Ds has £500). From what I've seen so far they will earn a pittance in interest. I debated investing their money in the FD 6% regular saver. It that would only see a return of £20 and £10! Their current building society are offering a 3 years bond at 3% with regular contributions. Dd has an isa I transferred her CTF to and that's doing exceptionally well! All these other accounts just don't compare.

I do have some spends to update but will do it tomorrow when I can be bothered getting the receipts.

Going to finish watching the film I fell asleep watching last night.

For anyone interested in the BC plan? Not too long left now and feeling the magic. Proud of myself for resisting cake on many many occasions this week!

Numerous food shops done and all spends updated, I had been putting it off. Just need to add up cc spends now
Tried to have a slow paced weekend and am feeling relaxed and not stressed.

Have had quote for new windows and it's around what we expected so justnneed to decide whether we have it done before or after the extension. Sales advisor thought they might get damaged/stained by building mess but our build is on the back of the house so hopefully be unaffected.

Have loved watching the Olympics and children really enjoyed it too. Its wonderful to see them so inspired. Hopefully the rest of the afternoon will be a nice mix of Olympics and relaxation ready for the working week ahead. Dh has 1am starts all week so will have no evenings together. Trooper has also worked 4 hours overtime today :)
