I finally got in dfod, couldn't get it to work on tablet and once I finally got it sorted all the surveys I caught a glimpse of had disappeared!
Food spends updated and already spent £122 this month! Aiming to stay sub £250 but this plan means I am buying more expensive food and can't feed myself as cheaply anymore. £2 spent printing off photos for a little project ds had to do over the weekend. Am just relieved I don't spend all weekend working anymore,I wouldn't get anything done!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Had a nice surprise when checking the account today, cb went in week earlier than I thought, I've celebrated by tidying the accounts and making a £1.07 Tilly tidy.
Currently spending far too much money and 'borrowing' from savings. £70 spent on weights and bench for next stage of my fitness plan, dh isn't looking forward to assembling it!
Hopefully have a plan by the end of the week to replenish savings and put June pay to good use.
Shocking weather here todsy with flash floods, kind of relieved we didn't have a summer build. Still awaiting plans from architects but trying to remain patient. Its 4 months since we submitted first stage plans for planning permission!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Quick update from me.
Architect plans arrived yesterday :j
Pleased with everything so hopefully can progress with quotes now. Bill was under £1k so a few hundred less than I expected which is a big bonus.
Unfortunately, dh's overtime this week has been cancelled out as he's taken 2 sick days. He will be well enough to ring around and book builders quotes today though so hopefully get the ball rolling again.
It's turning into a pretty good week actually!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!1 -

50p on y0ug0v, its going to take forever to get to payout!
Definitely feels more real now newgirly, fingers crossed for some sensible quotes! Dh approached a few builders yesterday and one is coming tomorrow, one wants plans dropped off and the other said to ring him next week. Have a number of a highly recommended builder too so will give him a ring.
Architect fees paid and cheque submitted to building regs. Savings looking very depleted but that's what the money was for. We are back to overpaying about £250 a month too so everything looking positive.
The fact it's Friday is a bonus. Have Monday off so looking forward to a long weekend :jJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

We too have work starting though on a much smaller scale to you. Electrician starts tomorrow, builder next week. Although the savings have always been earmarked for it, it still makes you sigh when's the balance plummets!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0

Great news Cath :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

A builder came round yesterday, if I'm honest they are my preferred choice based on recommendation but well see what the quote is like. He prefers to do a complete job and subcontract rather than building just a shell.shangaijimmy wrote: »We too have work starting though on a much smaller scale to you. Still catching up on your diary Jimmy, your decorating sounded like a big job. We are not mse in that respect and pay a decorator now.Great news Cath :T.
Thanks Gally, seems to have taken forever to get to this point.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Bit of a financial update.
Resisted buying wine on Friday so overpaid another £8 off the mortgage. Made a 75p TT off 0% card and then discovered b*g@s had overcharged me!
I amended direct debit by 50p after requesting a refund. So this month they took £180 instead of £90 on the wrong date as well! Spoke to someone very helpful who admitted she couldn't see why and offered me a full refund. I chose to have just the £90 as this payment also reduced my dd from £90 a month to just over £50! How random! Have recently reduced internet and 8ky so think a new SOA is due.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
