It's going well so far. Food prep becoming more manageable and work in our cheaper recipe options. Spent another £8 today so monthly total for food and petrol is just under £400. We will continue to budget for £500 and put any surplus to good use.

Submitted meter readings over the weekend and had the option of a £60 refund and direct debit increasing by 50p a month which seemed like a good option. Haven't decided what to do with it yet but it will either go between architect fund/mortgage OP/0% credit card.

Holiday deposit paid so that will be cleared with June wages.

Am thankful for another day off tomorrow.

Decided to pay the £60 off a 0% credit card to take us under a mini milestone.

50p on y0ug0v yesterday and also made broadband switch from b*t back to eE. Should be saving around £15 a month :j

Was hoping architect plans would arrive early today. They are due towards then end of the week and although am feeling relaxed now that we have pp I am keen to get some fixed quotes!

I've just submitted our meter reading and we are so much in credit with them.. I wish a refund was an option, but I figure we will get it back when we move to a new supplier..

How are you doing on Y0ug0v now?

with you on that one debt free. I'm just going to ring them up and ask for the money back or to miss a payment for the month. Worth a try. Who are you with?

Hi debt free, think I'm up to £47.25 so not too far off :) we are with b*gas and I quite like the online account features. Might be worth ringing yours Jimmy, am sure you would put refund to good use.

Well, I have a long weekend ahead of me again, no architect plans as yet but I can wait a bit longer. I'm at the point now where I want to buy furniture for the new layout of the house! I do tend to get a bit ahead of myself.

First food shop of the month done, on this plan I regularly need to buy spinach and Greek yogurt. Hope to keep food spends under control again this month, if we can keep it under £250 I'll be happy.

    June spends

    Food £67.35
    Petrol £30

    Signature updated and pleasing figures.

We reduced wiotw figure by £1354 last month, part of this is due to savings for architect but even so am pleased! Mortgage reduction for the month was £585

    Great figures Cath.

This building lark is expensive before even buying a brick!
