Hi Tilly, I'm surprised by our food spends too. We don't stockpile food (have small freezer etc) but dh does a fabulous job of batch cooking. He is on a tasting panel at work so we do get a supply of bread which doesn't save us a huge amount but does mean we don't need to pop to the shops as often. I think this is key. We have bought a few of the c0-0p deals too as the fish one was a great deal. We probably need s small top up shop before the end of the month.
I'm going to make a smoothie to use up left over spinach and fruit. Does kiwi sound disastrous? Also have some veg that can use to make a soup which will provide lunch over the weekend.
Discovered our best money saver last night. Resisted wine despite a stressful day and shared a 40p bottle of flavoured fizzy water with dh. What a money saver! I realised it's the thought of wine I look forward to rather than the wine itself!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Thanks lulabelle. Hi dfod, this is the first year I am attempting to track month by month. I remember having a £200 a month challenge last year, seems impossible now but glad we achieved it for a month!
Yesterday was quite productive, children's swimming lessons went to well I am tempted to continue next term! Surely they don't need lessons forever? I managed to do level 2 Shred, am thinking of easing off running so I can fit in other exercise. Advertised a couple of rugs on Fb, one soldstrsight away so dh delivered it and we made £17. Dh offered to top it up to £20 and we can pay that off CP balance. Dh is feeling flush after winning £287 off a 70p football accumulator!
More washing line dried which just needed finishing off on the radiator, was damn cold yesterday though! Not much else to report, all money where it should be and enough in the current account for us to survive until payday.
£20 spent on second hand (worn twice) brownie uniform.
Right best make a move, its the dressed Monday morning!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
£20 paid off CP - still a looooongg way to go! :rotfl:
64p Tilly tidy made from food/petrol account. Should survive without a main shop this week, dh spent £25 at the weekend and be okay for a few more days. Aim is to survive until Friday!
Dd enjoyed piano again but one of their music books is £15! Seems expensive to me??
