    That's a good one, I'll remember that!

Glad things are moving on wrt the extension Cath :) My DS has never done activities, his SN makes it difficult, but DD is starting ballet in a weeks time. Its only £4 a time but I suspect it's the beginning of a bigger trend :D. My cleaner told me this week that her three 's activities cost £150 per month & most are subsidised

Wiotw definitely works for us and last year's challenge was to reduce it by £12,676 which we did!

£1 TT made today as had no pennies :)

We all went to the cinema this morning, dh paid (£10 for the 4 of us) and it was pretty successful. Ds got bored after an hour but after a little walk and change of seat he almost made it to the end. Dh was going to take both children without me, think he was relieved in tagged along! Dh wanted to get fish and chips on the way home for lunch 'his treat' so I reminded him we had plenty of homemade soup in the fridge. His first reaction is always to spend money though????

Did some sums this afternoon and from June should have £600 a month to throw at the credit cards? We will certainly do this for a few months to get the balance down.

It has rained ALL day today.I am seriously fed up of it now! However rainy day = board games and dd and I played scrabble. :)

Our planning application is now on the council website and fingers crossed we get an outline quote this week. :j

Thanks Ali, I am ready for the work to begin! Remind me of that when I am living in a building site!

I went out for a quick run this morning, only 3 miles but I always find the first run after a race hard to get out for. Usually takes me 3 weeks but managed it in a week this time! I think I definitely need to add in some strength training to help my stamina. Only issue is finding the time?

Was really happy I managed to book tickets to see a comedian locally. Confirmation arrived and the seats aren't even next to each other. There was no option to choose seats so am a bit annoyed. The numbers folllow each other but one seat is practically around the corner! Rang the ticket helpline and apparently no one can help me until Monday

    Monday again????

Payday for me this week so can pay all necessary bills for the month. Architect and council cheques have left the account so only the childcare one left!

Checked gas and elected account recently, we pay £89.50 a month which was recently increased from £77ish. We have a good credit amount ready for next bill (I submit monthly meter readings) yet to keep us on track it is suggesting we increase direct debit to £126 a month! I am not letting that happen!!! We already do what we can, heating has only really been on for an hour in the morning and a couple of hours in the evening, maybe a bit longer at the weekend. We mostly spend time in the same few rooms (i.e don't have lights, appliances and TV's on all over the house). Next step has been finding the right plug for the TV and not leaving it on stand-by. Can't switch everything off as sometimes 8ky is recording when we are not here.

Let's hope the next bill isn't scary and the direct debit can stay as it is!

Meal plan done for the week so minimal supermarket spending needed. Determined to keep money in our account rather than lining the pockets of businesses!

What a day. Feel like I am constantly playing catch up!

DH informs me someone from planning came round earlier, doesn't anticipate any issues but does need to speak to the neighbours

Heating not turned on this morning and had it on for less than an hour this evening. DH even bought an extra hot water bottle to replace one that was leaking. Maybe he really has caught onto this moneysaving. ISA's appear to have recovered a little and I am looking forward to being in a position to add to them. This reminds me I need to check when the children's saving Bond date ends.

Started reading a new book whilst waiting for dd at piano lesson, got about a fifth of the way through a Kat£ 4tkins0n novel but just couldn't get into it properly. As much as I want to read more, life is too short to force yourself to read a book you don't truly enjoy.

Taking dd to Br0wnies tomorrow to see if she enjoys it. I am currently not in her good books as I put steroid cream on her eczema :(
