yay for your car
Good luck with your plans... it is awful when you pin your hopes on something only to have them dashed.. I'm putting my downsizing to the back of my mind.
Your running is going great guns... I used to run , in my 20's and 30's... I wish I could do it now.. I used to love the freedom it gave me ... I felt so weightless In life's challenges..

Hi money for dreams, I find running really helps me. The fact it keeps me toned and physically healthy is a bonus. I mostly use it to combat stress!
This weekend has been far less hectic which was very much needed. Dh has done about 8 hours overtime today that we will see the benefit of in March pay. February payday stills feels a long way off!
Have done a meal plan for the week and a small top up shop will be needed tomorrow. At the moment we don't seem to be needing many big shops which is great.
Ds completed his stage 1 swimming today, its taken him a year but he is only ,4 and a bit and started when he was 3. Lovely to see how much happier and confident he is in the water. We have decided to continue with swimming lessons until at least the Summer.
Had fun playing cluedo with dd again today and its lovely to see her face when she works out a tactic. I think dh needs to teach her to play chess next. I can see her being very analytical!
Need to work out a budget for the rest of the month and to work out if I can use extra cash for childcare rather than voucher. I am hoping to create a surplus which will mean the last one to go out of my pay will be in April! Am hoping this will help me it mortgage application and plan! It will be the end of an era!
The sun came out briefly here today! Did anyone else catch a glimpse of it?June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
I did not see daylight never mind sunshine

We had sun! So much I put my tumble dryer on and the solar panels were still heating the water there was so much sun!
That only lasted a short time, an hour tops but boy was it nice! Plus a bonus of a lovely free tank of hot water and all the washing done and dry not hanging around on the radiators!0 -

I saw it on the way back from swimming, had big plans to maximise it but had clouded over by the time we got home! Glad you saw the benefit of it, it has been a while since it appeared!
Accounts balanced last night and childcare costs for Feb paid. The credit is slowly building and I cannot wait to cancel them! April should be the last month they are taken from my pay. I can see a whole new budget appearing!
Hope those of you down South aren't too badly affected with latest Storm, its wet and windy enough here!
Small top up shop needed today, our meal plan has really limited necessary spending11 days until payday......almost single figures!

Well, we had the plans back yesterday and we are really pleased with them. Extra bedroom is a really good size and we will have a fab utility and downstairs shower room. Builder calling later to give us a rough price and dh is going to take cheque for planning application to architects. This is why the accounts are slim and we are counting down to payday! Just need to find some time to ring mortgage provider again as our current offer expires this month and was based on a new purchase. We do have another local builder happy to quote from stage 1 plans so will ring them this evening too. Not easy juggling all this around full time jobs!
71 p Tilly tidy yesterday and I will need to keep a close eye on account to monitor cheques going out. Hoping next lot of fees (for additional work to amend plans) and childcare can be paid beginning of next week so won't debit account until payday! February pay is just going to be a case of balancing the accounts!
We will keep plodding and keep spends low.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Great news cath, hope the new quote is nice and lowMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Thanks newgirly, builder has been and hopefully have a quote back in a couple of weeks as he is really busy. Anticipates work would take 6-8 weeks to complete. Our dream house is so close now!
Nsd for both of us, another day closer to payday!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Single figures to payday! Requested £10.20 from tcb so hopefully can pay that off a card when it arrives. Opened a current account for cashback which was eventually declined but still showing on tcb
Dh did a big batch cooking session so we have lasagne to feed us for a couple of days and he froze one cooked mix. We have switched to turkey mince and don't notice the difference now.
Am hoping to go for a run after work today but am not feeling motivated at all! I am hoping the forecast sun will help.
Also need to set a February payday plan. If it is a 5 week month for dh that will make life much easier! Still have £108 yo pay to architects and need to save up for next lot of fees. Feels strange paying less off mortgasge/credit cards but this is part of the long term plan and we will catch upJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
8 days! Architect fees have left the account so it is looking rather sad! if I can delay submitting childcare cheque we will survive. I have credit in voucher account but am desperate for these to stop being taken out of my wages. 3 vouchers left and we wil have enough credit until the end of term. I will worry about summer holidays childcare at a later date!
Since our build may be done at this time I don't really want to take leave! ( this is very positive thinking and planning ahead).
£4 top up shop, not really sure what DH bought but assume it was necessary!
Need to tweak next months budget as piano lessons are going to be £70 a month. I could have a new car for the equivalent I spend on the children's activities!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
