  • Morning Cathy, I was only thinking about the cost of activities for children this morning. We noticed a big difference when ours got to 15/16 - far less activities and more free exercise :T

The house plans sound really exciting. Good luck.

I agree about the cost of kids, they do get more expensive if they don't get jobs after 18 though...........

I can understand why I didn't do any activities when I was little, there simply wasn't the money!!

Well I though I had my weekend planned starting with a haircut tonight. Checked my appointment card to check time and it turns out it's next week :rotfl: It will help the budget though as they don't accept cards! Will makethe survival week before payday a little less stressful even if I do badly need a haircut!

Tcb arrived so due to the above sent that straight over to a 0% cc. I won't be able to make huge payments this month due to needing to plough all spare cash into architect fund. We are up to date with necessary payments for work done but I expect the next invoice to be pretty big! Am hoping that doesn't come in until April!

We should also manage with just a 'top up' shop over the next week. I remember when JO was doing that 'feed your family for a fiver' meal plan. I thought it was good at the time whereas now I expect £5 worth of meal to last 3 days!

    6 days to payday :jj

Did a very quick money plan this morning (back of an envelope kind of job!) And was hoping to break next 1k barrier of cc. Unfortunately this won't happen but we should be able to save £500 for architect fees. We don't have enough income to tackle it all and architect fees need to take priority. I am hoping by the next potential invoice date we will have saved enough!

It is difficult to make a long term plan as we have no idea of build costs yet (planning permission pending).maybe if I overestimate and base outgoings on that then any thing left over will be a bonus.

Went for my colours read today, was brilliant and so glad I went. I am a 'summer' so at some point need to tackle my wardrobe! I can't wear black so there's a few items I can get rid of!

Now having a lazy afternoon and am going to enjoy carb loading. Dd wants to play monopoly...she is very competitive and this may not end well!

  • You would rather piano lessons than a new car though, wouldn't you?

    I know I would!

Absolutely. Am hoping its a skill that will last her a lifetime. She has been playing for children at school and loves it! Do both your girls play?

That's expensive isn't it SHS but worth it. Dr new teacher has a very different teaching style but she is engaging really well and playing the piano each day at home. I wouldn't even say she's 'practising' she just enjoys playing what she has learned.

Well it's the final days before payday and menstally I have almost spent/saved it and am ready for March! 59p Tilly tidy made today and as long as the 3 cheques I have written don't all go out before Friday we shall survive in the black! Not the general message of a MFW board but we have had to find a lot of cash for the architects in a short space of time and have done it without incurring debt. Our MFW ways enabled us to do this :)

We should now have NSD all week. I just need to search back to log food/petrol spends but we aren't doing too badly. Amended architect plans are back and we are waiting for our first quote. We are at that limbo stage now where nothing 'appears' to be happening.
