  • I am going to be really annoying and say you will get the house that's meant for you.
Several have passed us by while we have been on the market but new and better keep appearing.

That's not annoying at all SHS. We literally put our house on the market as we saw this one come up and yes it has sold but we are up and running on the market ourselves. The preparation of getting a house ready is hard work isn't it and we have done that.

We now just have the extra work of being ready for this weekends viewing. I was cleaning windows at 19:30 this evening which is very unlike me! The playroom will need a bit of sprucing up which we will do between us when DH gets in from work and in the evenings. I have a charity bag ready to be taken to the shop and plan to steadily declutter.

Realised yesterday that DS needs new trainers so nipped to sp0rt5 dir3ct for a cheap pair. Got him some very nice ones for £13.99 and as I am trying to be disciplined, paid on the cc and then paid £15 straight off!

DS has his first day at school nursery tomorrow and is super excited! He also had his first tennis lesson this evening so is feeling very grown up. Piano lessons researched and booked for dd. wow it is an expensive skill to learn! I hope she can teach me as she learns herself!

  • Wow 5 years - happy diary birthday:j

Piano lessons will be worth it though, although I agree expensive.

  • Sorry about the house, but I do agree if it was meant to be... We nearly had a house near my sister so basically living back near my home town. In a way I am glad it didnt happen and I have stayed where we are but I did have my little niggles about it. The decision was taken out of my hands.

Happy diary anniversary. :D Its great reading back. I look back at my old one and see how far I have come.

As for the piano lessons, I looked for my DD but I could not justify £20 for half an hour a week. There was an offer at her school where they could share the time and the cost but she didnt really have anyone that she wanted to do it with. She teaches herself now from youtube as well as the guitar.

    Hello lovely visitors :)

Re: the house, what will be will be. Just waiting for DH to get a letter from HR we can send to current mortgage company and we are also going to consider using a broker we heard of through the new build development should we receive an offer on our house. I am glad we have had a few days to prep for the viewing. It's a whole different ball game having a house on the market and working full time with two children! When we sold our first house I had 1 hours notice for a viewing. Literally everything went in drawers and I couldn't find anything for weeks. He did buy it however.

Have steadily been decluttering and a few bags of carp thrown out this week with a full binbag ready to go to the charity shop. Have been working out what carp will go into the car on the morning of the viewing. DH going into work super early tomorrow so he will finish work in time to spruce up the garden (weather permitting).

Piano lessons booked and September lessons paid for. Current account now looking depleted

I need to pop to @ldi after work tomorrow for wine and some plants to spruce up the garden and give us that important kerb appeal. Am hoping a quick google will tells what plants are easy to maintain and will last. I am thinking geraniums or cyclamen?

This year really is whizzing by, I get another payrise in 2 months which will be most welcome! I would love to make a sept-dec plan to see what could be achievable by the end of the year but we feel in limbo currently. I do however want our WIOTW figure to be sub 100k even if it means the funds are in savings towards a potential house move.

Still to organise and pay for this month....

    Car MOT
    House insurance
    Mini break balance
    Birthday party balance

Hmmmm, not looking particularly frugal! :rotfl:

  • Hi CathT, good luck with viewing. I'd go with winter pansies as they are cheap and cheerful but good choices of colour. I always think they have smiley faces.

    Best wishes Tilly x x

Thanks Tilly, good tip. I will get some tomorrow. Have a couple of planters to fill but shouldn't cost too much.
