My little people are 4.. I do have a diary, it's called Mortgage Free by 2023!
Great you manage to get runs in after work. I could do one on a Friday and a Sunday and then probably either a Tuesday or a Wednesday, so I need to save up for a decent bra, some trainers and something to run in! Any recommendations for any of this?DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

I keep umming and arring about running again, all the people I met through my running club are going onwards and upwards and I am back at square one again which is why I have been putting it off.
Have you had any feedback on the viewing? Any more in the pipeline?MFW 16 No 33

He is SHS but as I also deals with the finances he is quite happy to push to buy houses I know we can't afford! He did however work 8 hours overtime yesterday though
Debt free I initially ran in cheap trainers and my feet suffered. I got some brooks trainers from sp0rtssh0es.com for a really reasonable price so would recommend a look there. Again, I used to run in existing sports clothes and when it rained I ended up absorbing all the rainwater! I got some cheap stuff from sp0rts dir3ct. As long as I have a water bottle and music I can go! Oh, I also bought running socks to help avoid blisters!
Hi NS, I bet it wouldn't take you long to get back to fitness. I started running April 14 for a few months and got up to 3 miles. Didn't run from sept to this April and from starting at 3 miles and am now up to 13 miles! No feedback as yet, our agents aren't open on a Sunday but hoping they already have some info from showing the viewers round. I will hope they ring today and if not, chase the up tomorrow. I'd also like some feedback on he they are getting on marketing the property generally.
Last bits of paperwork posted off to FD some should have an official offer through soon. Be good to know finances are in place!
Food shop yesterday £29.30 so pretty good for a week especially as that also covers our lunches. Buying lunch for myself is something I really cannot justify! I'd rather eat a bowl of soup amd have the money for the children's growing list of extra curricular activities!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Morning! Not much to report apart from a. Tillytidy of 60p yesterday as the CB hit the account. I was genuinely shocked to see money in there! Have kept back £35 and transferred the rest to the bills account. I'm not sure I can live on zero cash for another 10 days!
We have had a a house viewing and positive feedback. They are relocating so hoping we make the short list for second viewings. No other viewings in the pipeline but I am not getting stressed out like I though I would. What will be will be.
Pushed myself to go for a run after work yesterday and as I'm not feeling 100% at the moment really didn't want to so pleased I did. I am supposed to be running 5 miles later! DH is going to take the children to their tennis lessons so I really have no excuse!
Just counting down the days to payday now! Wish I had firm plans in place but need to remain flexible in case the house sells!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Treated myself to £10 out of the cashpoint and it was spent in an instant. £2 in shop on cereal bars and crisps, £3 collection and £5 for lunch deposit! :rotfl:
I think the children are more ready for the weekend than me! DS bumped his head in nursery and then fell in tennis resulting in tears.
This evening has been spent booking an activity for October half term - £25 spent, booking football sessions for dd for after school that she has wanted to do of ages. They clash with tennis so we have changed the day they go, £35 spent. Filled in request to take children out of school for a week for our CP holiday, Party invitations written and then it was time for bed!
So much for bringing quality to the week!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Thanks for the tips re running stuff will have a look, trying to streamline my lunch to save money and time, but also stick to a healthy eating plan, this week has been a wholemeal bagel!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Good luck with it debt free, it does get addictive.,
50p tilly tidy made as a cheque cleared. Honestly can't remember what I wrote a cheque for though! Who writes a cheque for £4.50!?! The stub is blank and memory not reliable!
Mortgage company have returned all of our paperwork today so will keep to one side in case we happen to need it for another provider. Guess we just wait on FD decision now and we know where we are in terms of borrowing.
Food and petrol spends looking reasonable for this stage of the month. Need to check cc balances over the weekend and arrange payments for payday next week. Things have been slow money-wise which isn't very motivating. expecting a good wage for DH due to all the OT he did last month. He has done around 10 hours this week too!
Think we had another drive-buy potential viewer yesterday. Yes we have kerb appeal so just view and buy!!

Hi Cath
Took me a year to sell my last house in 2010, my previous houses had all sold within a few weeks. At first it was hard but I used the year to do a bit more painting and sprucing up and forgot it was on the market for much of the time. Then one day it sold, all it takes is one buyer. The market has picked up, so I am sure it won't take as long for you.Mortgage Dec 2015 - £21545 Apr 2016 - £19930

Hi Clare, thanks for popping in. That's good advice, it's hard to strike the balance isn't it when you don't really want to spend more money but also need to be prepared that it won't sell, or that effort could help sell it.
Our playroom is desperate for a re-vamp so that would be first and we could do with a new bedroom window.
I think I half expected a steady stream of viewers initially and then for it to quieten down. That said, you don't need many viewers these days as righm0v3 tells yo everything you need to know.
We may consider reducing asking price in a few weeks especially as it was valued above my expectations. Just don't want to end up giving it away!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Yes, it's a difficult balance. I didn't spend too much, just on the things that were most obvious and things which I had bad feedback on. Mainly painting and replacing a few doors. I got a couple of low offers but turned them down, however I did reduce the price over the year by about 10k and then got an offer close to final asking price. The other helpful thing I did was change estate agents after three months and this made a big difference to the overall amount of viewings, as the first one wasn't doing a good job of marketing it.Mortgage Dec 2015 - £21545 Apr 2016 - £19930
