Quick update from me. Car failed MOT, needs some work on the brakes which will cost about £120. This cost is covered by the account for car expenses.....just!

Don't seem to be doing too bad with food/petrol costs, the end of the month is in sight! Have budgeted £500 total so should see a decent amount come off cc balance. £7.02 spent on top up shop today but paid cash as trying to avoid using the card. Payday tomorrow so a lot of the bigger bills will be paid then.

    Food. - £212.69
    Petrol - £168.93
    June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!

Food and petrol spends updated. Am shocked we spend almost as much on fuel as we do on food!

DH had a minor car mishap today and broke down in the middle of a busy road! Am very thankful for AA membership and that the repair won't be too expensive!

Work is manic at the moment and am ready for the weekend, I have to say this week has flown!

Mortgage statement as arrived and we appear to owe £10 less than my spreadsheet shows. At this moment in time I will gladly take that!

Have a night out with friends this weekend and not sure how to keep spends to a minimum as it involves food and drinks and it might be the kind of evening where your wine glass is constantly refilled!

Am feeling a bit delicate this morning after enjoying a good night out with friends. Was a one off and sober October sounding appealing!! Spent around £25 on food and drinks. DH spent a little but out of his own spends.

Updated cc figures and last month we knocked an extra month off the end date. If we continue at that rate they will soon be gone......forever!!

Mortgage daily interest has dropped to £7.47 which feels like a mini milestone. We are not massively overpaying at the moment but every month almost £500 is coming off the capital. :j

Swimming lessons paid for, considering stopping these after Christmas as dd a good swimmer now and ds should be safe! Hopefully be then he will be ready to stop using the float vest! 25p tilly tidy made after sending swimming fees. I still have piano fees to pay. dd's birthday money would cover this month but not sure that's ok? I would be fine with someone paying for lessons as a gift though so guess it's the same thing?

Planning a lazy day today, most housework and washing up to date so will potter later. Yesterday was busy as we viewed the newbuild again, i cut the lawns and went for my first run since my HM. A rest today sounds blissful...will someone tell the children!

As the end of the month approaches I have been trying to come up with a plan for October. Has to be realistic as we go away again in November.

Think I managed my first 'glitch' yesterday. A site posted that tableTs were £9 so I ordered 4 ready for Christmas. Not sure they will honour it but was too good to miss. I definitely need to keep spends low this year but ideas are already flying around work about nights out etc and it would be fab if we could spend new year with friends as we are usually mega boring on NYE!

Had my lazy day, had a lovely trip to the park though. How wonderful is this late sunshine! DH unfortunately had to work most of the day and then due to an issue had to return to work in the evening. Not good when he was back in at 4am today. He is not in a supervisory role so I encouraged him to mention this at his next appraisal!

    Plan for this week.

    Small food shop
Work out what dd wants to do about piano lessons
    Bit of and organising
    Keep on top of housework
Bring some quality to the evenings when I get home from work
