I rang up the tax credits this afternoon and they wouldn't let me give figures for last tax year, but did let me give new estimates for current tax year.

That's useful to know frugalfrog, will wait it out for the pack and try and sort it all together. Hopefully they will be here soon.

Somehow I have spent even more money in the Supermarket!! There are 11 days until my payday (although DH gets paid twice inbetween) so I plan to withdraw cash and just use that. Question is how much? I need petrol and we have some family days planned. Will withdraw £60 and see how we get on! :D

DH getting paid weekly seems to confuse me as don't know how to sort the money out most effectively. My wages cover most things and his top the account up and so get spent! Maybe I could transfer food and petrol money weekly out of his wages and save the equivalent from my wages? I also don't really know our true income/outgoings at the moment due to both having payrises :j:j:j:j and TC uncertainty so things should become clearer towards the end of the month. I know I need to make our money work harder for us though.

Informed DH of my plans to spend just £60 between now and payday and he suggested going to buy something for tea. I have the contents of Mr S in my fridge and cupboards at the moment!! He redeemed himself by making a yummy bread and butter pudding with a loaf that was otherwise headed for the bin. I'm going to portion that up and freeze.

Have got the dentist tomorrow so that is going to eat into my budget. Have to be extremely frugal as we both need petrol too! Maybe I have set myself quite a challenge

Last week during a money sort out I finally got around to switching the direct debits for Hally account to qualify for free fiver! Increased DH pension contributions whilst doing this and the letter has come today. We used to be able to view/manage it online and it stopped a while ago but the letter gives the option to add the account. I just can't see online how to do it? Can anyone help? I'm sure it used to be under 'preferences' but I can't find anything!

Also reduced my phone tariff when sorting DD so saved £6 a month there. :)

I'm not exactly sure what was in the local anaesthetic the dentist gave me but I came home and was on a mission! DH had told me the dressing table we no longer needed in our room was too big for DD's room. Guess what, I got it in there. Did have a dodge moment where it was wedged between our bedroom door and hers but it fits. :j

The room really does need decorating and finishing off (all the bedrooms need it) but experience tells me that costs escalate once you start so we are waiting until we have paid a bit more off the kitchen 0% card. DD doesn't seem to mind so it's not a problem.

Have a gardener booked for Monday as they are doing promotional rates and it seemed a bargain. DH and I just don't have the time/inclination/ability to get it how we want so have called in the professionals! Hadn't accounted for that cost in £60 budget so that's another £50 I need to find

    Hi <waves>

Just popping over to say hello! I have read through some of your diary and it sounds like you are doing a great job. I think our kids are probably similar ages except I have one in the middle too. It is nice to read about someone else with a similar situation.

    Have a great weekend:)

Haha, you're braver than me having one in the middle as well!! :D A lot of my diary is probably around 'do we move or improve?' You may detect a recurring theme ;)

We've been out this morning to the zoo via the outlet village to get DD new shoes as hers have a hole! £43.99 later both of the children have new shoes as DS has grown 1.5 sizes! That had to go on he CC or i'd be overdrawn and paying £1 a day charge so I will pay that off on Friday when DH gets paid again.

£50 cheque has arrived from Newvista which I have banked. Gardener has just delayed work until Wednesday so fingers crossed the cheque may clear by then to avoid money switching.

DH plans to go to the car boot sale tomorrow whilst I'm in work - I do hope he doesn't come home with lots of carp!

Hope everyone else having a lovely Saturday, I'm going to do some tidying up now and bake cakes once the children wake up. :) Be back later to catch up on diaries.
