Other things to do today- [STRIKE]cancel sky (hopefully the one months notice will still enable DH to watch remaining football games.[/STRIKE]

Isn't it amazing what you can get done with child free time. Didn't actually cancel sky (I wanted a reduction but they very nearly cancelled before coming back with a pretty carp offer which I accepted!!)
Have worked out our monthly bills and it's £80 less now than what I have always budgeted for so I have put OP SO back up. I had reduced it to help with kitchen expenses but the CC is going down nicely and is interest free.
btw, cleaning the patio was far more physically demanding than anticipated :rotfl::rotfl:June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Does it look good though?0

Well done on completing your list!
Hopefully the weather will be kind this summer and you will get lots of time to sit outside and admire your patio cleaning:)Jan 2013-£140,231.65

Not bad
if I didn't seriously lack upper body strength it would be better.fothers365 wrote: »Well done on completing your list!

The sun has been out since and we have spent lots of time outside.
Mortgage has gone out today and the increased OP intended for next month debited today so I will need to transfer difference across when DH gets paid this week. I can't believe we have reduced our WIOTW figure by over £2000 in a month!
Had a bargain yesterday and bought three makeshift raised garden beds for £10. Just need to make sure I prepare them properly and can then get planting
Also re-potted the buxus plants into nicer pots so they look a bit prettier. I love my home at the moment which is a great feeling. June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Wow, that's a good deal. You lucky thing.had a bargain yesterday and bought three makeshift raised garden beds for £10.
It sounds like the garden will look wonderful this summerCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck
Phase 1 - Emergency Fund - Complete :j
Phase 2 - £20,000 Mortgage Fund - Underway0 -
It certainly was a bargain! The lady I bought them off has them all down her garden and they looked fab. I have tried to strategically place them in the sunniest spots of the garden without them getting in the way of the children playing. "watch mum's plants!!!" are frequently said words.
It's absolutely glorious here today, plasterer has done the box room so hopefully it will dry nicely. I'm going to pop for some wallpaper at some point over the weekend and get the decorator back to do the work. I'd held off until we had saved a bit more but the unfinished rooms are bothering me as I wanted to finish making the room look beautiful. DD has decided on black paint so am still in the process of persuading her to choose another colour.
Right, I'm off to have a coffee and read my book in the garden - who knows how long this warm weather will last.

Ha ha! My dd wanted black paint in her box room, I managed to persuade her to have black wallpaper with a silver pattern and dark purple, still quite depressing but not so dungeon like , good luck

I'm having difficulty persuading her!! She is 4 and has a complete aversion to pink, can't tempt her with purple or blue. It's not a big room so maybe do it cream and [STRIKE]sneak[/STRIKE] add in some nice colour when I can
Had what seemed to be a busy day today but really didn't get much done at all. Had a course assessment which took up the whole morning (but I passed :j) then DS was under the weather and grumpy until school run time. I cooked a really nice stirfry but chicken tasted odd so now I'm worried we're all going to be ill!!
Plan for tomoro is:
Take DD to morning sports lesson
Compare DH's tax codes as he doesn't appear to be benefitting from changes.
Buy paint and wallpaper as store has 20% off.
Finish off raised beds
Visit NT property if time allows
Hope sun comes back out -was miserable today!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Plan for tomoro is:
Take DD to morning sports lesson done - appears to have lost interest on week 2!
Compare DH's tax codes as he doesn't appear to be benefitting from changes. looks like he is £4 a week better off - wonder how I missed that!!! :rotfl:
Buy paint and wallpaper as store has 20% off. done, now have all paint and wallpaper for 2 bedrooms.
Finish off raised beds items bought, just physical work left
Visit NT property if time allows maybe tomorrow as it's raining on and off.

Spent far too much money between DIY store and garden centre but they were planned costs, although not completely budgeted for.
I searched then garden centre today for raspberry and strawberry plants, is it too early in the season?June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Raised beds are coming on well. I have rescued a few strawberry plants and have a few raspberry plants I found in pots so they can be added in too. I'm happy about this as it has saved me a few £££'s :j
Spent Sunday at a local NT property which was fab and DH took children out yesterday whilst I worked. They all had a fab time!
Have blocked drains again so 'drain man' is calling later. We are going to have a camera survey done this time so please send good vibes that it is nothing major causing the problems. (it blocks every 18 months or so) Decorator also calling later and hopefully he can fit the work in soon.
I am now counting down the days to payday, having a tight month and we need food shopping again :eek:June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
