Only 11 months until I can sleep again then!
Cheque arrived from GTM today for just over £31 so DH banked that after work. That can be the first OP of 2012!
Still no further collecting paperwork for mortgage but I guess I can do it over next week or so as there's no rush over the Christmas period. I am just not getting time and anything that requires a level of concentration is not top of my 'to do' list as I don't get any peace!
DH first proper day in new job today and did 1.5 hours overtime today and there should be more to come this week as it's their busiest time. Payday tomorrow so will try and figure out this months money, DH going from monthly to weekly pay and my head is scrambled!
Have a pile of Christmas presents in front of me on the rug and a baby sleeping on my knee, not sure it's worth moving him while he's so quiet! Best give it a try though as the days are running away with me.
Sarahevie I really recommend FD, they have been so helpful.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Courgette saw your post after I replied. Their rates beat everyone else hands down imo, we have been offered BR+2.09% and their customer service is brilliant. I was having problems getting paperwork from payroll but when I rang them back they spoke to underwriters and now don't require it as they could see I was having issues getting it. MW is with them and recommends them too. I believe their online access for mortgage is brilliant and they write to you after each OP is made. You can also sign up for various text alerts.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

I've just switched to them for banking, mainly for the £100 they were offering but have been really impressed with the service. They switched everything over and even called to make sure i hadnt had any issues, when i phoned to activate cards it was answered on first ring. As we only have mobiles I gave them that as a contact number, explained we didnt have a landline and she offered to call me so I wasnt paying, said she'd put a note on my file too. After a mishap with wages (my employers fault!) i called to request an emergency OD so payments didnt bounce, again answered first ring, the gentleman did security, said I can see your on your mobile hang up and i'll call you, even apologised about having to do security questions again when he called back! agreed a £300 overdraft there straight away, then called me a couple of days later to reassure me payments had gone through ok.
Bit of a waffle but i looooove them lol... if only I didnt have a great follow on rate from my current provider and not so great LTV i'd switch my mortgage too.0 -

Hi Cath,
Just popping in to say thank you for your help and support this year. I have been looking at possibly changing to a fixed rate so might look into that next year.

Still trying to slowly get together paperwork for mortgage to send off in the New Year. Have paper free statements but have managed to order 3 months worth of paper ones fee of charge so need to check if other providers do this. Hopefully get last months and this months payslip later aswell. DH now on weekly pay so that is going to end up bulking out the paperwork pile! I am just so disorganised at the moment!
Think baby has reflux but reluctant to intervene with medication so will just deal with the extra laundry!
Haven't managed to do all the decluttering I wanted to so think the house will be chaos Christmas morning! I just wish everything in my house had a home!
Haven't really set myself any major goals for 2012, it would be nice to have some back up savings which will be earmarked for renovations but can be used if necessary. Also would dearly love to get the mortgage sub 100k but have a broken SS so not done the maths yet!
Have a great Christmas everyone!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Merry Christmas x0
