How old is the little one now....?
I did Gina Ford with both of my babies, a lot of people think it's rubbish and that she's evil but it worked like a dream with both of mine and they were definitely contented little babies. Both of them slept 7 til 7 from the age of around 14 weeks and before that they only woke at night for a feed and then straight back to sleep again.
The key things that I think help are as earth girl said, lots of milk during the day.... And then, whenever they fed at night I would always feed them in almost the dark in their own room and never made eye contact or talked to them. Sounds harsh but it stopped them from waking up properly and thinking it was play time. I never nursed them to sleep. just gave them a cuddle and kiss and told them it was time for sleep. Popped them back in their cot/moses basket and let them settle themselves to sleep. Sometimes there would be a little bit of crying or a few chirps but once they got in to the swing of it they just would go straight to sleep......
I never had a problem and both of my boys are totally different children, so I don't think it's anything to do with luck or just that the child liked to sleep, it's most definitely down to having a routine.
Other tips, not too much sleep during the day. Also, bed time would start at around 6.15 with wind down, warm bath, milk, cuddles and then sleep.

Hope you don't mind me giving these suggestions but if it helps its worthwhile!
    Good luck x

Boo to rubbish nights! No suggestions though I'm afraid other than to just feed as much as possible during the day. 10weeks is still pretty young though

We're hopelessly disorganised this year regarding Christmas. Not done a single thing, except eat a few mince pies if that counts :rotfl:

Getting him weighed again this week but my HV advice is to 'give him a bottle' so I let that go in one ear and out the other! He is a hungry boy but obviously doesn't have a big tummy that stays full for a few hours!

Checked mortgage rates again and am definitely ringing First Direct in the morning to get the ball rolling and hopefully secure a good rate. DH payslips have only been issued online so need to figure a way of printing them off. I just hope we get the offer as there is nothing else out there that compares.

Just re-read and thank you for all the suggestions. I don't talk to him at all at night but he would nurse all night if he could. Someone suggested trying a dummy for one of the feeds. I feed him around midnight and then again 2ish and 4ish and it's hard work getting him back down after the 4am feed. He was brilliant last evening though, bath at 6pm, fed at 6:30 and was asleep at 7:30 and slept till about 11pm which was fab! Maybe he's turned a corner but I would appreciate him dropping a night feed. Even if he cluster feeds all evening he has the same number of feeds at night. DD was sleeping through at this stage 10-5 but that happened the first night I gave her formula for a dreamfeed (so i carried on!) and I don't want to give him that.

Got a list of financial stuff to do today: cancelling CC, trying to sort DH pension, arranging mortgage etc. DH is off today so he'll take DD to nursery and then do the food shop. Hoping for a £20 spend, don't mind eating boring stuff in the run up to Christmas as we can indulge then! Hopefully wrap some more present today while DD not here and get some gifts under the tree.

Have had £10 from mysurvey and £40 onepoll land in account last couple of days so can send another £50 OP so target reached for the year! That means we have paid £11,283 to the mortgage this year which is a fair proportion of our income, can't wait to be MF!

Have been accepted by First Direct for tracker deal BR+2.09% which was fab! Was on the phone for 75 minutes so was very glad it was a freephone number! Just need to get together a lot of supporting documents now. Payslips, bank statement from 3 accounts and a letter from DH new employer to confirm a few details. They are also requesting a letter from my payroll confirming that my wage is guaranteed whilst on maternity leave. They are going to charge me £8 for this privilege! However, they are meant to provide this information anyway!

FD worked out our LTV to be 66.5% so we have just missed out on getting a sub 65% deal for 2.39%. Am going to OP as much as possible to see if we can reach it by April. Balance would need to be £105,950 based on Halifax's valuation but hopefully FD surveyor will value it higher. :)

cath your HV is clearly a retard (and I mean that in a loving way;)) but you are clearly giving Baby what he needs and he is good at telling you what he needs.

I know it's notalotofhelp when you are knackered, but it's not for long.

He's very little still, and I console myself with the thought that the feisty babies are just showing their intelligence:D

Whilst getting baby weighed today she told me about 3 times to put him on formula. He's gained 10oz in 14 days, I'm hardly starving him am I! :)
