It takes a good few hours - you need to go through a 45 min conversation on teh phone, and then complete a form and send everything in. HOWEVER, I would not let that put you off - loyalty to banks counts for nothing! I am so glad I switched to FD, their customer service is second to none and I can see my mortgage statement monthly, and how quickly it is coming down. I would say shop around and get the best rate/deal/product for you, nobody rewards loyalty! And fingers crossed for sub £100k!
A lot of time and effort but definitely worth it if I can secure a better deal. Don't think my maternity leave payslips will help though! Thank you for that MW.
Have been taking the slow and steady approach to the MF dream! Continued to sell things in an effort to declutter and over the weekend have made £32.50 with another £5 due later. Kept up with surveys etc but nothing paying out at the moment.
DH has a broken ipod touch (again) so he has bought a newer model! However, did go through TCB for ebay and £4.90 has tracked. He is actually tempted to relist it as he got such a good buy! He can also sell his faulty one but I have no idea where would be best. Any thoughts?June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
I have washed many an ipod! To be honest I have never sold a broken one but they are worth something on ebay as i've seen them on there, it may be worth a look.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Cath you are doing so well to keep on at being MFW with such a young baby, I suspect I will be utterly useless for a good couple of months after I have mine!
Are there any specific threads in other parts of the MSE forum about best places to recycle the Ipod touch- perhaps a search of the forums would yield results?Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams0 -
Right, cheapest car insurance for us both is with current providers? How do I get a better price from them? I've been with my provider for 4 or 5 years.
It always really bugs me when my current provider is cheapest. I feel cheated of cashback and feel like I didn't get a good deal despite it being the best price. MW - we should set up an FD appreciation society. Ithem and the fact that they answer the phone within seconds and are actually helpful

I'm the same, I should become a car insurance tart! I will make sure I get cashback this year!
Finally, a respectable maternity leave wage!Am so relieved and will do an updated SOA to see how we will manage on it until June 2012.
Got a jobs dilemma with DH, has a permanent job already but unhappy there but after being interviewed for 3 positions this week by one employer they have offered him the one with fewest hours (20) but it is permanent. He has another interview today and we'll get our thinking caps on after that!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Transferred money from decluttering to savings and resisted the temptation to OP it. I think a renovated house is needed before we become MF though! Have £50 payable from TCB so have requested that and will OP it. Target for the year is £3000 so I'm almost there.
Plan for today is:- Christmas craft stuff with DD
- Tidy playroom and fill charity bag
- Change beds
- Try and make some money somehow!

DH's day off! Also, the baby is relatively easy although demanding. It's my 3 year old that is hard work!
Almost at payout on Onepoll, if they are generous tomorrow I will get to payout, if not it will be Monday.
So, survey and cashback money on its way to me so far is:
GTM £30
TCB £50.50 and nearly at payout on
Onepoll £40.
I think that's pretty good going for free money and all of it will be overpaid. I really wish I'd kept a running total and survey/cashback earnings this year. I think I'll include it in my sig for next year.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

The tantrums are hard work here, trying to 'supernanny' her.
TCB money received and OP'd. Need another 60p ish on onepoll so get to payout Monday.
Was browsing on Rightmove yesterday and realised that to get a decent size 3rd bedroom and kitchen diner we would need to increase mortgage by at least 30k (can't see us selling ours without a big reduction due to box room) so extending is definitely the choice for us.
Have done a quick SOA and my corrected maternity pay is quite manageable and then when I return to work in June 2012 we have around £1000 surplus a month after all outgoings due to tax credits we will get until following April so some serious saving can take place!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
