Sorry to waffle but if I dump the card now though will I lose the cashback I have already accumulated or do I have to wait for my anniversary to be paid the cashback and then I dump them?

Oh ****. Didn't think of that
Oh well, it's gone and done now. And what's more, when I went to check my final transactions online, I couldn't access my records either. Arghgh! Not surprised they didn't try to keep my custom them... they saw me coming a mile off, didn't they. By my calculation, that's about £40 cashback they don't have to pay me now.

YES you will lose all you have earnt, therefore rather than cancel the card now keep it open til the anniversary date/moneyback date and then cancel it.

Just phoned them back to reconcile my final transactions and check the cashback status (and have another moan... at least it's a geographical number, for which I'll credit them) and naturally, yes, I have forfeited the cashback. But this time the guy was a tad more sympathetic and straight out, offered to credit my account with £40 before they send out my final statement! can't say fairer than that I suppose, and I don't even have to wait until my aniversary next Feb.

Still closing the account though, but feel much better.
  • Thanks for your responses folks. I'll keep it for the time being but won't be using again.

I also received the revised T & C on my Platinum card today regarding cashback which is effective 01/10/06. Like many others I'm planning to keep the card open till anniversary and then close to receive the cash back earned. My question is since I pay my balance full each month will they send me a cheque on my anniversary for my cashback earned?

    Cheers

No, they will credit it directly to your account.

Thanks. I knew that but what if there is no balance on my card. I guess I need to spend on the card worth the cashback they have paid right? then close the card.

    Cheers

I've just viewed my latest online statment and have noticed that my cashback has been credited to my account:j . I've only had the card for 7-8 months, and was wondering if it's because of the change in T&C's?

Has anyone else had their cashback early?

Are you sure of that? and how much was it against your total spending? just curios to know how much they have paid you?

    Cheers
  • Oh yes, forgot to say, I ran through the other options (eg getting a cheque) and he said that it HAD to go back to where the funds came from. So not sure he would have accepted sending funds to an office either.
    What kind of options?
