it's a change to the t&c's of the Amex Blue card, I'm afraidSnootchie Bootchies!0

I received the letter yesterday about the change to cashback. Not goodLooking to raise some money0

I also received a letter from Amex this morning with new terms and condition saying that as of 01/10/04 the money back is being slashed to 0.5% for the first £2k, then 1% after also the APR for cash is going up and something about an increase in the late payment charge. I’m never late or use my card for cash just letting you know. ???0

I've just received a letter from AMEX advising me that from October the cash back on my Blue Card will change as follows: -
All spend up to £2,000 will earn 0.5% MoneyBack
All spend over £2,001 will earn 1% MoneyBack
Looks as if they're going the same way as all the others!0 -
Annual. The new tier will cost only £10 cashback over the course of a year, so although irritating, possibly not quite as apocalyptic as some people have been suggesting!0

I just got a letter the same letter this morning (hadn't seen the forum until now so it came as a shock). :o
The two tier cashback rates apply to annual spend of course. And if you earn less than £5 you get nothing (+ the annual administration charge).
So if people aren't going to use it you have to close it otherwise you'll have the £15 admin fee charged each year.
I'll be ditching mine - can't be bothered with the hassle of being told 'we don't accept amex' for the sake of 0.5%.0 -

If you spend over 2K on it in a year you won't lose any cashback as the cashback is payed at 1% on aggregate amounts.0 -
BTW has anyone had any notice of change of cashback for their Amex Platinum?

Have just applied for a Platinum AMEX card - but the application form I've completed and printed off/signed and returned has the old scales of cashback and no annual fee condition too. As I've signed up to this, will they have to inform me if I'm accepted, that the new T&C's are effective? I'm assuming they'll just say - here are the new terms, if you ain't happy, get lost...

Just noticed from my statement that I have this month exceeded the £5k spend ceiling with my platinum AMEX but not been given the 2% cashback per the T&C when I transferred from my AMEX Blue card in May.
I have twice spoken to AMEX Customer Service (seems like one located in India and one in Sweden) who tell me that the 2% does not cut in until £7k and the 1% limit is at £3k. I have not received any notification to this effect and all both CS people could say is that AMEX will send me a letter within 28 days telling me what the ceiling is.
Has AMEX sneakily raised the ceiling and has anyone with the Platinum AMEX had a similar experience yet? - check your cashback on the statement
I am still in debate with AMEX and will let you know what happens after receiving my 'written confirmation'.Save a Lert0
