Wow! Well done you :j
I dont have the media package but I do have 3 phones with them which is why i think they swung it for me with their 600mins + unlimited texts for £15 plus the £5 credit.
They did say that they have only just started matching the Tesco deal so if you tried earlier might be worth trying again.....I thought this Tesco deal was just too good to miss and I was going to port over to them from Virgin but Virgin offered me a better deal to stay. £10 a month for 800 mins, 3000 texts and 1gb of internet. It's their £20 a month deal with a £10 credit every month.
It seems some people have been luckier than others with Virgin but I think it depends on your own individual circumstances. I've also got Virgin media broadband, TV and landline and to be honest I'm pretty happy with the service I receive from them. Apart from the loooong wait on hold to get through to customer services that is.Ellie

I too phoned Virgin yesterday. I've got an £8.50 contract for my daughter which is coming to an end next month, for that she gets 100 mins and 100 texts. After being on hold for half an hour I spoke to a lovely lady. I told her I would like to stay with them but was very tempted by the Tesco deal. I didn't even get chance to finish what I was saying before she told me not to worry she can give me a better deal. So as of next month she will be getting 800 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited data (1GB) for £10 (Virgin 20, Sim only, 30 day rolling contract).
Very happy0 -

I got this deal as well! Does anyone know if I can use my sim in something like an Iphone or smartphone?

Data normally works in anything, except Blackberry specific data (can still use browser on BB tho).0 -
Hello. I have a question for people who bought this Tesco sim in store. Does Tesco give you a credit check? I live too far away from Tesco with phone store. So I phoned the Tesco phone number (the 0800 one) and got a credit check and was rejected to get this sim.
My credit score is not very bad. I have a credit card of which I always pay the bill every month. I have a sim only contract with o2 which is going to end soon. But I am not in electoral roll. And I have been moving back and forth recently. I have been in my current home address for a month. I was at the old address in 2 months.
What should I do? Should I try going to a Tesco store with a phone department? Do you guys think I shoudl try? I have to catch a train if I want to go to that Tesco ?0 -
I asked about this when i went in to get one for my GF, Apparently they do a credit check but they didnt tell me when I had gone in and got one last week. Was a bit annoyed that there was no mention of it but hey-ho, I passed it anyway.
I had assumed they were just checking the address I gave matched the address on the card, dont know much about credit checks but I assume a credit check is a credit check? Or are there different levels?

Just been on to Virgin, Customer Service was atrocious. Spent 55 minutes of being passed around before losing patience and requesting PAC code + cancelling contract after 13 years with them. Phoned Tesco and signed up for 10 quid deal in 5 minutes, just had email to confirm details, looks promising so far, fingers crossed."We could say the government spends like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors, because the sailors are spending their own money."

I signed up for the deal, switching my PAYG sim over to retain the number. I did however have £20+ left on the card, and was told this would carry over.
Looking at the Tesco site, my account, it does not seem to show this. Any other experiences before I call customer services?O would some power the giftie gie us to see ourselves as others see us.
