  • Is 500Mb per month a lot?

I ask because apparantly it's £4 per Mb if you go over your limit. They won't cap it, so you just have to monitor your own usage. I don't want DD to run up a massive bill!

Ok, a bit miffed with them now...

Signed up over the phone on the 11th. Received Sim and number ported over on 15th. Billing date is 16th (didn't request any specific date, was just given this).

Online allocation stated 500 min 11/09 to 15/10, so I assumed they just rolled the extra few days but maintained the allowances, ie I get no extra mins, but do get the extra day connection without any pro-rata charges.

However, had a bill issued on 20th, which stated 11/09-15/09 £10 & 16/09-15/10 £10. Bearing in mind I was only able to use from 4pm on the 15th, I've essentially been charged £10 for 8 hours.

Queried it with them over the phone, and she kept reassuring me that I'll only be charged £10 per month, not following that it was the £10 for a bit of the month I had a problem with. After about 15 min she got it, but said that they'll roll over my allowances, and even told me I'll get two months worth of unlimited texts and unlimited data (HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE, UNLIMITED x 2 STILL = UNLIMITED!!!!!) which I thought better not to comment on!

Fine, this won't happen again as it's a first month issue, but they aren't inspiring me with confidence in their ability to deliver...

I hope they use up say 4 free messages but more likely they will be 25-30p each on top of your £10 per month... :-(

I thought this Tesco deal was just too good to miss and I was going to port over to them from Virgin but Virgin offered me a better deal to stay. £10 a month for 800 mins, 3000 texts and 1gb of internet. It's their £20 a month deal with a £10 credit every month.

It seems some people have been luckier than others with Virgin but I think it depends on your own individual circumstances. I've also got Virgin media broadband, TV and landline and to be honest I'm pretty happy with the service I receive from them. Apart from the loooong wait on hold to get through to customer services that is.

    No, it's a 30 day rolling contract.
  • is this still available. I have a new tesco sim ... what do i need top do x
  • Can anyone point me to the thread that expalins how much Internet mobile Mbs it takes to send texts, connect to internet, download etc? I know there was one, but blowed if I can find it.

I have a new smartphone that I want to use, but just have Tesco PAYG. I think it will cost big bucks to use the net etc., even with the triple credit?

Guess the whole point is, if £10 month on PAYG, tripled to £30 gives me a fair amount of use, I will stick. If it only gives you a few connections at £4 per Mb, then maybe it is the £10 contract deal. I am also a Virgin BB TV and phone customer, so may try my luck there.

Only intent using phone for odd calls, maybe 1 per day, few texts, but internet connection, maps, satnav and I want to get into useful apps too.

    Thanks!

There's a calculator HERE for a rough guide, it won't be spot on, as there are variables such as how well the webpage has been designed or the resoloution of streamed video. HTH :)
