  • Holy man - Saint Maughold is the patron saint of the Isle of Man, Several places on the island, including, Maughold parish, Maughold Head, and St. Maughold's Well[4] are named after him.

And the parish church of Peel is St. German - Also a cathedral.

  • I'm starting to have my doubts about Peel Battery too - the Isle of Man isn't part of the UK (though it is part of the British isles) source
'trod frost' seems not to have enough vowels to be an anagram - though I could be wrong
  • I found this
The Half-Moon Battery: A small pit containing Mesolithic flints (see SC 28 SW 40) underlay a medieval cemetery, interpreted as the parish burial ground of St Patrick's Church (SC 28 SW 10); one grave contained the 14th century bronze signet ring of Sir Brian de Stapleton.
not sure if it's of any relevance?

I would like to think Peel Battery is the right answer for the first line, only I can't help but think the fact that the word Peel is in the line means we are looking in the wrong place (even if I did point us in that direction).

No - I definately think that we are in the right place to start from.

We might be looking for an anagram of more than just "trod frost", such as "man trod frost" or "trod frost in"

Anagram of frost is forts? :o On here it mentions
Castle with a 14th century gatehouse and a 15th century curtain wall. Half moon battery and round fort of c.1540.

Edit: Theres also a 'Half moon battery' in Edinburgh here
  • Do you think the 'Holy man' could be St Patrick? Peel Castle is on 'St Patrick's Isle'? here
  • Peel Castle is on St Patrick's Isle - could he be the holy man we're looking for?
  • OK, so where or how is he treading frost?

  • If the shape is Half Moon, and the Holy man St. Patrick, maybe it is pointing towards St. Patrick's Chapel, Half Moon Bay, Heysham Village
