I think that we need to work out the first line first, before we go any further and I've got an idea for part of the first line. Still trying to work out the rest of the first line and then I'll post what I think. Does anyone think that it is really worth using spoilers. I think that it is likely to be the same MSER's that keep coming back to this thread and I think that it is unlikely that any of us don't read what is in the spoiler.
Before I post my idea, does anyone want to keep on using spoilers so that they can work it out for themselves?
I don't mind either way. I am happy to use them just to be considerate but if other people don't mind I don't see an issue as to not using.itsinthemail wrote: »I come back to the thread to see if anyone has any inspiration, and perhaps that will help me, so I always read the spoilers. So Marg28, as far as I'm concerned normal post is fine.

In that vein, what about the Royal Naval Reserve Battery at Peel Bay - Isle of ManLiterally seconds after typing that link, I realised that the symbol of the IoM is the Triskellion - Three legs, each in a suit of armour, each with a spur...

If we are indeed looking at peel bay, we just need to figure out the shape bit.
looks promising, I'm off to explore that one.0 -
That was my thinking too. I reckon that the shape is just the shape of the symbol for the Isle of Man.
Here is an image of what I think is the battery at Peel Castle:-

but what I am struggling with is the Trod Frost bit.
I think that it's going to be an anagram of something, but I don't know what.0 -
I think I might have found the shape - following on from the Commanders find of Peel Bay

Well on the trod frost bit, From the wiki page for Peel Castle, led me to Peel Tower(s) and they are often associated with a church, which may fit with the Holy Man.Not as green as I am cabbage looking0

Rambling a bit here, but I was wondering about the Rev Awdry, who wrote the Thomas the Tank Engine books. Thomas "lived" on the island of Sodor and the diocese that covers the Isle of Man is called the Diocese of Sodor and Man.
As I said, rambling a bit though.
I am still looking for anagrams of "TROD FROST" that make a name.
I reckon that the "here" bit could be anywhere on the Isle of Man.0 -
I think the shape might be 'half moon' from hereThe Site

Holy man - Saint Maughold is the patron saint of the Isle of Man, Several places on the island, including, Maughold parish, Maughold Head, and St. Maughold's Well[4] are named after him.0

Does anyone else find the line "A HOLY MAN TROD FROST IN HERE NO MISTAKE." strange? I don't think the frost bit can mean actual frost, because it says 'in here' which would be a bit odd as it suggests inside somewhere?
I've looked at anagrams of 'trod frost' but I can't find anything that would mean anything either.0 -
I would like to think Peel Battery is the right answer for the first line, only I can't help but think the fact that the word Peel is in the line means we are looking in the wrong place (even if I did point us in that direction). Not as green as I am cabbage looking0
