ooo egg and and bacon pie! will do a recipe seach for that one!

plan to make left over pasties didn't quite work....Oh has decided the puppy is too skinny and gave him the remains of our stew to 'bulk him up' - yes the dog is lean, but he has a 17kg bag of food to last him till pay day and we don't quite have that luxury!!!

That is sooo annoying. DS came in at lunch time and got TWO portions of bolognaise out of the freezer for his lunch. Said he was starving. I can't keep up with him.

My mum used to make egg and bacon pie using Carnation milk when we were little in the 60's. That was before we knew anything about quich. It was lovely.

Egg and bacon pie dead easy bramble-basically cut up bacon mix into 4-5 eggs and a dash of milk, dash of salt and pepper, fork mix together. Make good old shortcrust pastry, line the pie dish, fill with egg mix and bake for around 30 mins at 200c. Yummy with beans or just on its own ;)

The freezer is my favourite hiding place! OH will never look in there!
and we have our own food cupboards (my attempt to stop me eating the cakes and sweets he has!) so i hid things in mine too - he'll never look behind the slimfast tins!

Yes.I think you're supposed to blanch them first but I never do, and they are fine.

So keep them recipes coming guys!

Bramble, have you found this yet?

great ideas for the slow cooker. I love lambshanks in ours. You can ask the butcher for cheaper pieces of lamb shanks, slowcooked, melt in your mouth, fall off the bone!

a blog is a great idea!!

i've realised now the importance of having a well stocked store cupboard, ours is usually lacking and it seems moreso this month! id by now, but i keep checking online banking religiouslSo planning ahead, what are the store cupboard items you could not live without?

The great thing i'm learning from all this is that i don't have to spend as much as i thought on a food shop, and will probably try and keep this up in the run up to christmas so money isn't so tight elsewhere!

Here is a great thread on store cupboard essentials. :)
