was thinking of getting one of those deoderant rocks which are about £6 but can last for a year..anyone tried them?

Yes, I use PitRok - cost about £6. I've been using it now for 18 months+ and it's bearly used. When you get out of the shower/bath put it on before you dry off your armpits (it's also good for feet too!). If you sweat alot in the summer then do wear sleeveless tops as this isn't an anti-perspirant, you will still sweat a bit - this takes a bit of getting used to, but no smell. It is by far the best deodorant I've ever used, and cost wise very MSE!

At the mo most of my stash is in 3 boxes in the wardrobe I'd love to get rid of them so I can store my books there which are still in a box in the middle of the dining room, been there since we moved in in june. Can't put up shelves so the only other option is to get rid of the books. That would break my heart.

Hi Keelni - don't throw away the books! I don't know whether this is possible, but I would suggest that you put the books in the wardrobe and then see how much overflow of toiletries you have. Then think strategically about where this excess stuff could go. For example, could you put some stuff in a large toiletry bag for use when you go on holiday and store this in your suitcase in the loft, if you have one? Perhaps a makeup bag at work could store some of your makeup products, including spare toothbrush and toothpaste? When I first started this challenge I'd got toiletries in all sorts of nooks and crannies in the house! The problem with it though is you forget where you've stored stuff!

footymadgal, funnily enough the toiletries are only in the top of the wardrobe because I had them stashed in toiletry bags, in my locker at work various cupboards and in the garage. And I had the idea to put some in the loft thats when I started this challenge as I thought it was madness putting them in the loft.
The books aren't going they mean a lot more to me than toiletries but I do like having the toiletitries in one place.
Hopefully I'll do better this month (oct) with uus and then look at moving the books next month.

footymadgal, thank you for the advice I hope the last post didn't sound like I was being rude. I think it would be a good idea to put some of the smaller travel size items and one or two of the bags.(I have way to many) in the suitcase as I was planning to put the summer clothes up the loft anyway.

One final use up to report for the month (assuming nothing does tonight) is the hair dye I bougt earlier in the week.

I did find an opened nail polish bottle I had no idea I had a couple of nights ago as well :( I thought I'd used it all up, and bought a new bottle last month, d'oh!

Final UU - hotel shampoo. However got loads at splutter stage and one conditioner that's been cut open to get the last bits out! Still definitely a 'need to do better next month' verdict though.
Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.

No more UU's for me and none likely to go tonight. Still have 1/2 bottle of conditioner left which I hoped to eke out over September so I am happy. I shall see if it will last next month too. Really, we only need it for doing DD's nit combing as it seems to make no difference to my hair.
See you all on the next thread :)

Hi Keelni, don't worry, you didn't sound rude at all! Since I've been doing this challenge I've noticed how I've regained space in my wardrobe (one of my toiletry hiding places) but it can be a slow process! Good luck with UUs in October.
