Well, i had a phone call from three business support to offer me as a goodwill gesture £150 cashback, but only if i extend my contract with them for another 6 months as i have been a good customer of theres .
Let me think, i get £150 for 6 months extra on my contract at £30 a month for a phone that i can hardly use as a goodwill gesture, to me that is £180 out of the £150 they are giving me , o that leaves me on minus £30, pretty poor . What a waste of time three business support were, they had the evidence that i was telling the truth and came back with that,
hope everyone else gets better service from them. three network , waste of time in my view, when you do get through you can hardly understand what they are saying.0 -
At last i have the money in my account from aboutcomms ltd, but only after i contacted hugh.davies@three.co.uk (director of corporate affairs), the next day i had a call from the executive office who said they had sorted it, yes it has been done but what a bad experience. Hope this e-mail address helps someone else, good luck.0

Glitterbin wrote: »I have to say that my experience with About Comms has reflected the worst of the above - promises for cash back, refund of early termination penalties etc have all proved harder to obtain than hens teeth. I also had to go to the bank to get a refund of the insurance that was not offered or accepted. I am now owed 3 lots of cashback and have even been told that the customer services rep had "stood over the finance manager to watch him transfer the money" and still, weeks later have seen nothing. Obviously I would like to receive the money that I'm owed, but more pressing than that, I would like to see this company prevented from trading to anyone else. Does anyone know of a central body who would regulate this area of trading?
Hi Glitterbin, the best way i received my money they owed me was to report them to the service provider. This was a good way of reporting bad service as my phone bill is from orange. I just rang up orange and told them the rubbish service i revised form about comms and said i was disgusted that orange had links to such a crap company as about comms. If everyone complaned to their service provider then something may get done.0 -
Please do not use About Comms or About Cons as they ought to be known from now on... They have caused nothing but problems for my husband who has now been without a phone for 2 weeks. The catch is that instead of upgrading your contract, which would not net them much profit, they reroute your number to another network, then sell you a new contract with your existing... or now previous supplier, transferring your number across, at a much, much later stage. We have incurred costs that they are promising to reimburse but no sign of them yet. STEER WELL CLEAR.0

My experience has been very similar to the above. Trouble actually getting the phone set up, and as its my business phone that meant being unavailable to clients for several weeks. Then the trouble with getting cash back started immediately. I have had to phone them many times to get any cashback. Most recently they have not paid me since January 2011. Now they owe me £120. I also thought the contract was shorter than 24 months and now have to wait until April to end it all. They say the same things everytime I call them - as above. I rang Consumer Direct and they referred me to Ofcom. Ofcom said they couldn't help as its business not personal use of the phone and to try Business Link. There is no longer an office to go to here in Birmingham, only internet contact. There is very little help there and I ended up feeling I would get further in complaining to post something here. I wish I had contacted Money Saving Expert before I let myself be taken in by About Comms! Thanks for all the helpful pointers, I will try complaining to 3, the original service provider, and see if that helps. And also moneyclaim.gov.uk.
From now on if someone phones and offers me a deal I "can't refuse" I will hang up!!0 -
Hi Tashiyan, i had the same problem , i tried three customer service and after they investigated it for about 2 months i had a phone call from an indian sounding lady to say she was offering me cashback as a goodwill gesture, but only if i extended my contract by 6 months with them , somehow i politely said no thanks (customer service people have to work to there guidelines so it wasn't there fault). Then i tried an e-mail to Hugh Davies on a sunday night, i had an e-mail almost immediately back from him to say he had passed my e-mail on to the executive office. The next day i had a phone call from them to say they had contacted aboutcomms directly and that they said to three that they would pay me the money and they did the next day, please don't let them get away with it and dont settle for a lower offer from three, what they owe you should be paid. Mine was a business phone as well.GOOD LUCK0

I have read through all the posts about this company and I only found one I did not agree with and that’s the positive one.
I have had the same problems as everyone else here, only wished I had seen this first. I started a 24 month contract with them 9 months ago. They moved my wife and I from personal contracts with O2 to business contracts with Orange, I have to say both O2 and Orange are both brilliant for different reasons. Three months in I was still getting invoices from both suppliers, I contacted about comms who should have cancelled the O2 contract only for them to tell me to do it, and so I did. About comms offered to pay me back as they admitted it was their mistake, they should have done the hand over and cancelled the O2 contracts.
I made the refund about £300, but after months of debate I settled on a refund of £118. That was back in December 2011. I have called them every week since and today the 09 feb 2012, I still have not received my refund.
A director of the company is called Mr David Kilby.
Having checked him out, he is a director of four communications companies, one now dissolved.
Two of the remaining communications companies trade from the same place, the one dissolved also traded from the same address.

All this information can be found by putting "david kilby director at about comms" in a search site such as google, like i did.
So I don’t know about you but I can not wait for my contract to end. I stayed with 3three for over ten years, I know how stupid that was, but going direct to a supplier is the way to go.
Would I recommend these guys or any other third party, hell no.
This is of course my own personal experience and my personal view is stay well clear of them.
Best of luch with getting money back from them, legal action to follow, make them pay.0 -
I'm having the same problems with Aboutcomms........ they owe me approaching £200. Despite promises & assurances that the "FD will escalate the matter today"......no joy. To add to the problem, they're not answering their phones today!0

I am having a major problem with this company. All I am trying to do is get my upgrade from them, but after many phone calls and countless promises of call backs and even a letter asking for what they promised me I dont know what way to turn now. I actually did not sign an contract but they have said they have this on file. I have asked for a copy of this and again they have not supplied this to me. Can anyone help me? If I just stop paying the bill, what could happen and would I be in the wrong? HELP!!!!0

I have found About.comms to be deceitful with no level of service whatsoever. They asked for bank details to verify my address to post me a handset for my approval. On recipt of this they set up a business tarrif on my behalf without my permission with Orange to the tune of over a thousand pounds. Despite promising i could keep my exzisting moblie number.
After "stealing" a £72 connection free from my account i stopped the illegal direct debit. Currently i have debt collection agencies chasing me for outstanding monies. Neither About Comms nor Orange whom i have been with for over ten years seem to care. The whole experance has been a nightmare, you can't get replys or find out who to complain to. Disgusted that they are allowed to trade like this and the law appears to be in their favour.
