Is anyone else doing the xmas eve hampers this year?

Yep I am! I'm doing one for us and one for my little sisters to share with mum and dad.

For the girls & mum & dad:
new disney princess mugs (which will be for snowman soup- which i'll put together later on £1 each TJ Hughes)
PJs (peacocks sale £5 for 2 pairs fleecy ones)
Santa clause the movie dvd (3.99 play.com)
3 packs of sweets (for £1 tesco)
    Flannel reindeer x2
Personalised xmas stories (printed and laminated - almost free! :rotfl:)
personalised letters from santa - typed myself
a letter from santas elf -who if course will be dropping the hamper off ;)
Santa stop here door hanger - yet to paint!
    Santa key (to make)
    Reindeer food
    Rudolph noses
    Bubble bath
Hand knitted blanket for snuggling under to watch the film
Bag of cashews for mum and dad,
    bottle of wine for mum
big bottle of lager for dad

Our one will be similar but as DS is still too young really will just be a smaller family sized version :D
    Sooooooooooooooo excited about it!

gingerandrubarb Thanks for the tutorial thats going to be the next project anyone know where I can get some cheap material?

Hi hunny, what a great idea for a xmas eve hamper, i think that's what i'll probably do but add in a small car or similiar little toy too :T
As for fabric, the good thing about the project is that you can use basically any fabric, i've used an old topshop skirt before (it was metallic tartan in black and blues) just cut along the seam so it's wide and use that, you can also use old bedding, curtains, towels etc.. otherwise, Ebay is good for fat quarters or etsy japanese fabrics are equally gorgeous and cheap, I usually buy metres of fabric from this link http://www.cheapfabrics.co.uk/thestore/index.php/cPath/538?osCsid=oci8sfh3opt8r4nnlt6o5ds4i6 as they are really cheap and generally send you over the metre, For designer FQ's like Michael miller or Kauffman i usually use ebay or Etsy definately as they have loooads, :T

without a doubt!! i did one last year for my 2 and they loved it :D
in fact when i ask them about last christmas they can remember everything from the hamper - including the actually box, but they dont remember what gifts they got on the day!

crafty things to go in the xmas eve hamper this year are
    *cookie mix in a jar
*magic reindeer food for them to scatter - they loved making the garden all glittery in the dark!
    *sock monkeys
*santa key - might make one myself from salt dough to have it there for them or leave the ingrediants in a jar in the hamper for them to make one themselves? if i let them do it, theyll argue
mind, i could always have one make a key for the back door and one for the front incase santa doesnt know which way to come in ;)
    *snowman soup
*chocolate - which i will mould into their xmas shapes

    will also add
    *new pjs
*new fleeces for their beds (last year it was shaped pillows)
*bath products - character bubble baths, body washes and bath mitts/flannels
    *a xmassy dvd
    *new cups
    *book for bedtime
    *santas plate and glass
    *colouring books and pencils
