More great ideas, thanks guys!
I've started listing all the things I plan to do in a notebook now, as my brain just can't hold it all anymore!
I went shopping yesterday, and have bought the choc powder & mini marshmallows for the snowman soup. It occurred to me, that instead of putting in chocolate drops, I'm going to make some chocolate love hearts, and a chocolate swirler, made out of chocolate melted into an icecube tray, with a wooden stirrer (I may borrow some from MacDonalds...). I bought a chocolate ice cube tray in Sainsburys yesterday for 50p (it had 50% off). Sainsburys also have lots of 50% off stationery, notebooks, pencils, so have bought some of those too.
Loving the fabric covered notebook idea, can't wait to see the pictures!
I've found an East of India woven ribbon that I really like, that I'm going to use on my gifts. I like the New England look, so that's my theme this year. Still yet to go out and search for some nice jars to use.... may check Asda and Poundstretcher.
I also bought all the ingredients yesterday for the Christmas puds and cakes. Will leave it a few more weeks until I make them, as I'm nervous of making them too soon. It's more having the plan in my mind of who is getting what that is most important now. I use a spreadsheet on the PC each year to keep tabs of what I'm spending, and what I've bought. It's my only way of remembering. I started doing that about 3 years ago, because I completely forgot that I'd hidden some gifts one year, and didn't find them until after Christmas! Not making that mistake again. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
Please stop posting all these brilliant ideas - my list of things to do just gets longer and longer!!
So much to do so little time0 -

Hey gingerandrhubarb,
The Chilli jam is a nigella xmas recipe I think. I've never made it but some lovely people on one of the other xmassy boards were talking about it and it sounds scrummy. I've got a link below but I think there's some pop ups!! http://en.petitchef.com/recipes/chilli-jam-fid-267388
As it is an N Lawson spectacular I'm sure it'll taste awesome!! I love the jewel colour of it...there's probably a poem that would suit it too!!
That's the recipe I have just made. :j It's just cooling before putting into jars in about half an hour. It looks absolutely wonderful.
I also have green tomatoes and onions prepared (have to salt them for 12 hours or so) ready for Green Tomato Chutney tomorrow. :A
I made Blackberry jam for christmas hampers and I've only 1 jar left because it is so scrummy.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!
