A very naughty £4 spend today because I fancied a posh lunch!
There's no way I'm coming in on target this month, so I'm in damage-limitation mode. Got £28 for Friday's weekly shop, and we have guests coming to stay, so never gonna happen... hoping not to be more than £50 over by the time the month is over
Oh well, have already put my budget for Oct in my sig because next month I'm not including alcohol in the GC and the lower target is making me feel better! *tricks herself*Mortgage£148,725 Student loan£13,050 HSBC loan£12,221

Afternoon all.
Just bought some mushrooms, eggs and bread today £4.72.
I have had a habit of buying something for the kids to eat when they get in from school but I'm finding it harder to buy junk now - shop-bought biscuits, cakes etc just don't seem very interesting or worth the money any more. Anyway you all know the answer so I am off to make some little cakes in a minute and have another look at the front page for biscuit recipes.
re the C*op - I do a lot of my top up shopping in my little local C*op and I much prefer to give them my money than T*sco but only if their stuff is cheaper! I give them the chance! The coupons are useful as well (and may be very useful the way this month is going!)
I would also like to change my bank account to them but am a bit chicken about the changeover (worried about direct debits etc).

Is this a stir fry kind of sauce or a heat up and pour over ice cream kind of sauce :rotfl:Emma

this is a tip I have to stay in budget that I haven't seen written anywhere (but so many threads!). I budget per day, shop and then divide the spend by the daily total, I then don't shop again for that many days.
For example my budget is 14 per day so if I do a 28 shop I don't shop again for two days. This method allows me to bulk buy and it allows me to save. For instance I am now 7 days in advance of myself so I will have some slack around christmas. Hope all this makes sense!0 -
Thanks for the info on the co-op - I probably spend £100 a month in ours in !!!!!!itmilleniumhandandshrimp type shopping (I know, but I hate shopping
) so worth the effort and the £1.
Another £30 spent today in a rare trip to Lidl/Aldi - stocked up veg and on a few things that we only buy there like chorizo, some on offer d/w tablets and got a months worth of fruit drinks/croissants for small boy pack lunches. No veg box this week so that £15 goes some way to offsetting this spend.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
£6.25 on essential bits at A*da today, but will only need one purchase of milk at £1.68 till 30th. Overspent this month but I'm still figuring out the best way for me and I don't think monthly is it:rotfl:
Going to try weekly for October, but still using meal plans, and spending a bit more time on the OS board this time. I just wish I could convert my daughter...the amount she spends on groceries is :eek::eek:0 -
£20 spend in Lidl today getting their amazing yoghurts and a load of other stuff. Only a couple of days until payday so should be fine. Then will try and reduce the budget for October (Is anyone else scared that it's almost October already??!?!) Going to have some broccoli and cheese soup for dinner with some toast I think.
Have a good eveningFeb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790
