It's just sat in my cupboard staring at me, and I have no idea why I bought it or what to do with it, but I don't want to throw it away either!

Fridge is looking a bit empty. I have got one week's shopping money left but October will be a five week month so will have to plan more carefully. All three children have birthdays end of this month/beginning of next too. Co-op keep giving me vouchers for £8 off an £80 shop but I have not used one of them yet as do not spend that much at one go and they are also very time limited so can't eg do a bigger fortnightly shop - even if I had a big enough freezer, which I don't. Hate that I'm wasting eight free pounds though!
You're not wasting £8 you're saving £72
Lemon curd is quite nice if you put a tsp full in the middle of little cupcakes or muffins before baking. Mr T does lemon meringue muffins this way with wee bits of mallows on top."Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0 -
 Just back from mr T where I was heading for bread, milk, shower gel, a couple of bakers and a bag of mash (I know how lazy this is but I do love it
) and ended up spening £18.29 . I am quite cross with myself because I have been doing so well this month and although I am still within budget I could have done a lot better had I been 'behaving' during this shop. I got some things that were completely uneccessary!!! Got a few freddo's for DS for 90p, a tin of reduced soup (why oh why - I normally make my own
), some pain killers which werent on list but were needed, castor sugar (this should have been in next months as its for my xmas pud but for some reason i felt the need to buy it today), a bar of galaxy (), daz liquid (not needed but it was half price), some reduced bananas and cucumber, a wee toy for DS, some pork mince (for a recipe i want to try) and some small cartons of apple juice for DS. I think I am just as annoyed about the fact that the 2 bakers I bought totaled 79p and the pack of 4 costs 70p!!!!!
Oh well onwards and upwards £12.57 to last me until the end of the month which I WILL stick to..........................:mad:Emma

As I suspected I have gone over this month (sig updated below). If I can keep it to less than 10% over I shall be happy with that. Last week DD1 is at home so things will change after October 1st! We are out on Sunday this weekend - MIL's birthday dinner- so not much more to buy for the rest of the week (she says!).
I am working late tonight, so I have made a lamb casserole and done the potatoes and veg ready so it will just need heating up when I come in -hopefully DH will get in before me and will be able to switch it all on - that's as far as his culinary skills go at the moment and even then I have to leave written instructions! Bless!
Well done everyone. Nearly there.

Today should hopefully be my last big shop of this month. Spent £36.55 in Mr M's. Was really pleased with this since it was a 'big' shop. Multi-saves were £4.19 and used a £3 PC voucher.DFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt
August GC £0/£3000 -

How about a Victoria sponge with Lemon curd in the middle or what about Lemon Curd Icecream.
Been up the Allotment and dug up enough spuds to see us through the weekend and also picked some more Toms that are close to ripening, have them in a bowl in the windowsill so by Saturday they should be ripe enough to make another batch of Tomato sauce for the Freezer.
Off out to the Garden now as it's stopped raining, going to pull up the last of the Beetroot.:)"WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

we've a couple of lemon curd recipes listed under 'Cakes....' in the front page recipe list - lemon curd ice cream (2 recipes) or lemon curd cakes,... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
