crimsonmaj wrote:Just spoke to my OH about this - he is a copywriter - first off all he said there was no chance and then he came in and asked if it said offer or offers after the asterix and it says offer so it does read as if it it only the £10 deal that finishes on the 17th. I hope so - am having the same battle.
There are three of us now having the same issue now. I hadnt noticed that offer/offers wording but another thing to add to me complaint. If any of us have a r&r we must let everyone know so we can link them all together so we all get the same offer. I have a fone call recorded saying its adefinately an overcharge. so might copy that to disk and send that in to Sir Terry aswell.. Adrain Russell (head office guy) say no so will be speaking to him again tomorrow.may be you guys should contact him..the more the merrier and they might give in if we all complain together!!0 -

"Recording Private Calls
The relevant law, RIPA, does not prohibit individuals from recording their own communications provided that the recording is for their own use. Recording or monitoring are only prohibited where some of the contents of the communication - which can be a phone conversation or an e-mail - are made available to a third party, i.e. someone who was neither the caller or sender nor the intended recipient of the original communication.
According to Oftel, you do not have to let people know that you intend to record their telephone conversations, provided you are not intending to make the contents of the communication available to a third party. If you are you will need the consent of the person you are recording."
You won't be able to use the guy saying yes as evidence, so I wouldn't rely on that getting you a refund. Best just to keep trying.ॐ Signature Removed by Someones Mum. ॐ0 -

Hopefully you'll agree and help.. well done on your refund tho.
WHo did you speak to on HO aswell? Thanks0 -
Richie23 wrote:Did they give you a reference number regarding this as plenty of us cant get a refund as HO have said no..but if we say that this case had it then they should refund us all... does that make sense.

Not sure it's ever a good idea to mention other cases to HO. An ordinary customer would not know of anyone else's overcharge. I know I wouldn't mention it, I think if your phone is over £50 the argument about the misleading asterisk is actually a VERY solid case.
Just my opinion.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I was thinking that but bit unfair that some are getting refunded and others arn't...(not making that sound funny like)
Its the same with the xbox fiasco..evryone rung HO and said that this was a weel known problem..
Like you said i'm gonna ague the * thing first..hopefully that will do it!!0 -
Laneyboo wrote:phewf.. having just caught up with all these posts i feel i should add my huuge story into the equation and see what advice/comments you lovely people have on this
last week after a small (4 bottles) R&R'ed on some wkd i ended up at my local Extra at around 10 at night, they had the £20 off motorola poster when you purchase with £20 top up and so i bought a v3 razr and i also noticed an ancient 10% off Motorola phones leaflet lurking inbetween the stands and so bought a different motorola phone.. purchased these and went with the guy to the CS desk while he went and retrieved the phones.. of course i still hadnt had a peep at my receipt yet but when i got to the CS desk a manager on the phone shot to the desk and hovered around trying to look at my receipt then came off the phone and asked me what the problem was? to which i repliednothing im waiting on my phones..
so he thoroughly checks my receipt and seems disappointed he hasnt thwarted an R&R which was definetly what he thought i was there for (not sure how as ive only ever R&R'ed 2 packs of pork chops in this store before)..anyway he nudges the CS assistant and tells her he needs a word about something.. ahem yes me! .. at this point i could feel eyes burning on me from behind and thought even if it was an overcharge i wasnt disputing it with this guy as he was already out of his box and jumping on the lid with adrenaline that he might stop any R&R actiuon ..and i hadnt even got the phones in my possesion!
I got home and of course there was no discounts on either phone.. phoned CS the next morning who were very understanding and called the duty manager at the store to arrange for me to go in and get a refund on BOTH items in full and her words were "you will get both items for free".. fair enough.. went in and what do you know.. the manager decides he doesnt want to give me a refund on both, stood fighting my corner and asked him if he was overrulling HO/CS and he said yes and also made comments that i had taken the leaflet in with me from months ago and produced it now expecting to get a free phone..
anyway I took the phones (one was refunded and i got to keep it) and left to speak to CS again.. now couldnt get ahold of the original woman i dealt with but yesterday another helpful lady called the store and said she would sort it for me.. i got a call back yesterday to say that after a lengthy discussion with store manager she can no longer discuss this situation with me and any further discussion on the matter must be taken up with the manager in store, to which a manager at her end has also agreed they are backing the manager on this one and will not be issuing a refund for the phone that had 10% off leaflet with it nor will they make comment on the situation as i asked how one manager can overrule them and their policy.
More than a little disgruntled i have to say as i would love to know what the store manager has said to HO for them to turn 360 on their original decision and back the manager and refuse the refund on the 2nd phone they had a arranged but went in for my refund yesterday and my gosh.. as soon as i entered the store blooming flashing beacons must have gone off as i was met by 2 managers at the electrical desk who were very intimidating and asked if i would like to speak to the store manager as he would be more than interested in talking to me.. i didnt and so i got a refund after a huge caffuffle that made me appear to be some sort of criminal (other customers staring and even the assistant who processed the refund apologised for the managers and said ive no idea what that was about..)
i wonder what was said by the store manager for CS to back him and not me and also the store must have pictures of me surely as these managers couldnt have appeared on the scene quick enough and that call must of come from the security guard as i walked instore? if so how can i find out? i really do not feel i can go back to that store without an escort of somesort .. infact who am i kidding im sure a manager would happily be on my tail escorting me out of the store if i stepped in there again..... should i call HO and report this? just feel completely let down and like a bit of an idiot going in there to get a refund as the manager looked at me with those "haha i even got customer services to side with me" look..and just to add insult to injury i was so embarassed by how they treated me in there yesterday ive only just noticed they have kept my receipt which i need for the motorola phone ive kept and am using - what should i do???
apologies for the mammoth sized post but i needed to get this off my chestFour guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

Yellow SELs for Xbox 360 and game were still there, but the dummy cases for them and the GOTW poster and "Save £20" SEL had been removed.
...this was despite the fact that a fellow MSEr posted yesterday that the GOTW poster was still up at that specific store.
....darn!
the top games poster was up yesterday with the offer on it, not the full size offer posters, maybe someone got there first?0
