Plenty of Tesco employees / managers are regular and welcome members of this forum.

Also, see my earlier post - I have seen them with a list of misprices from MSE.

Yes I must admit I have to take the view that Tesco are using US to get their price integrity sorted.
Since some have argued that they R&R to punish Tesco for their Overcharging, presumably those people are now happy that Tesco are getting their house in order.
Personally I would have thought Tesco should have used the info provided by their cs feedback to correct their own errors, not gone searching out internet consumer sites to do the job for them.
Presumably this is a sign of the times - its cheaper to have staff surfing the net, and passing on the info to the stores ( whether they read their e-mails or not) than to actually
    1) employ staff to get the prices correct in the first place/take down out of day pos and sels
    2) employ people with a bit of common sense to actually write the offers eg the console and gotw, so they don't lose a fortune thru R&R 'cos of ambiguity etc
    3) Use the cs information to correct 'gliches' on their system.

Could we charge them a 'consultancy fee' since we are doing all the dirty work for them ?
Do Tesco have a union ? Surely we are depriving someone ( some-dozens I would think) of a job. why isn't the union protesting about non-union scabs doing the job for free:eek:

Presumably the best way to keep one step ahead of Tesco is to post all the mis-prices late at night after most stores are closed, or at least reduced to skelton staff, then WE have fresh info to hit them with next day -BEFORE their spy system has had a chance to circulate the info to the stores.

    Just one more comment.
IF Tescos ever did withdraw their R&R policy, I for one would spend only a fraction of the money I do in Tescos. They certainly are not the cheapest store. So they may find their losses thru R&R/wastage etc is reduced, but they would also find their takings thru the till have fallen too.
I sometimes go in 3 Tescos a day hunting out R&R, and even if I don't spot anything I will end up buying something
If I do spot an R&R I will automatically put several more items in the trolley to make it not look so obvious.;)

If I wasn't out R&Ring I could save HOURS of my time, and a fortune on impulse/camoflague buys.:D
  • Just back from a trip to Tesco --

PSP (white) + GOTW Tekken - £10 discount not applied. Met up with another MSE-er who had the original PSP + Tekken at the CS desk (was the username pudding or something like that? PM me mate!).

CS were not happy - initially tried handing us £10 each - as if! Then tried to refund cost of game (so obviously knew a R&R applied), which other guy took. Said she would not be refunding the full value (possibly because there was no manager from that section in?). Think we will both be contacting HO tomorrow now!!!

Many MANY thanks to the OP (was that you, Duder?) - am dead chuffed (or will be once I've spoken with HO!).

I too would like to say a huge thank you to posters on this site. I',m totally amazed at whats just happened to me and even more amazed at the ever bigger hole that Tesco are digging themselves into.

Last week I got a free psp plus Tekken thanks to tips on here. Minimal fuss and just token tries at partial refunds etc, all done in 10 minutes. When I got home (20 miles away) I discovered to my horror that they had forgotten to put the Tekken disc in the case. Phoned up, got it sorted and logged that I would call in today to get the missing disc. Went in this morning, was expected and given the disc with an apology for the mistake.

Had a quick look round and picked up a few normal shopping bits and couldn't resist a look at the console displays. And there was the yellow special offer sticker plus the big GOTW poster with what I knew (thanks again to this forum) was the wrong one. Bought it, trotted off to CS to tell them how I was embarrassed to tell them they had another major problem. I was upfront and told them I couldn't believe they'd made another mistake after my problem last week, that I'd only bought another console cos it was on special offer and I'd saved the cost last week and added that I only went in today because I'd had to collect the missing disc from last week ! And wasn't that lucky.

I had no trouble at all, they told me they couldn't understand it either, thanked me for telling them and apologised for all my problems. I think the fact that they'd refunded me last week went in my favour as it had clearly presented a precedent. In fact the young man on CS said he wondered if it would work in any other stores and if he had time to get to any before they shut ! I didn't have the heart to tell him the full story.

They were lovely about it - so much so that I did just mention to them that as both psp and xbox were wrong perhaps they ought to check nintendo. They did and were very grateful that I'd mentioned it (and I was kicking myself for being so soft) as that was wrong too. I got a bit of a story about it not being their fault, HO had apparently made a mistake but it didn't seem that they were aware of whats been going on. I find it odd that - after my freebie last week - the manager hadn't got all the cpnsole offers checked out.

The even better thing was that, inspite of me asking the guy twice if he needed to mark my recipt or wanted a signature from me, he didn't want either. So I've got the goods plus a virgin receipt - which I assume I can take back to a different store and get a full refund. I guess I'm stuck with the game though as its not sealed - unless they will exchange it for something else in the same department.

I'm over the moon thanks folks for the superb advice.

After posting on here last night I took the advice and went to my local to check out if the Xbox speciual offer posters were still up. Of course they weren't, but the consoles had returned. Nevermind... I managed to get 4 finest beef joints though which were overpriced. CS rang manager and he was lovely. Apologised, said he had to some of those earlier in the week and doesn't understand how they could have had returned.
Upon my return I was desperately trying to keep up with the thread (you guys are soooo busy!!!)and read that someone was suggesting I'd have a look at Baldock. It was too late last night so I pakced up hubby and baby this morning and have a route around some Tescos. Our first stop was Royston but no luck. Signs are all up but there are no GOTW anywhere. We got lucky at Baldock thougha nd got an Xbox 360 with GOTW (signs were still up) but discount wasn't applied. I went back in (I must admit I was shaking!!!) and went to CS starting with "I believe I have been overcharged. The two ladies looked at me and teh Xbox, turned around and started whispering. I was told to hang on for a min and she got on teh phone to talk to the manager (she was whispering on teh phone and covered it with her hand so I couldnt hear what she was saying) while the other one went off to take a look at the signs (it was the one at the bottom of the games charts!). She returned and apologised for the error. She said that the sign shouldn't have been tehre and someone "messed with the signs". She proceeded to offer me a £20 refund to which I pointed at their R & R. She said tahtwouldn't apply since the sign wasn't supposed to be there. I said that surely wouldn't matter since it was there when I bought it and I wouldnt have bought that combination otherwise. She said there was nothing she could do. My husband (who I had brought in for backup) asked to sepak to teh manager but she said she has spoken to him and nothing would change. They offered me a full refund but I said I'd take it up with HO.
I'm sure I read teh answer to my question many times in this thread but I can't find it anymore so please SOMEONE HELP!
WHAT EXACTLY DO I DO NOW? I have the box, teh game and the receipt. I went back in teh store after they had refused the refund and they had taken all teh charts down.
Thanks for the person who pinted me to Baldock - please respond so I can thank you!
  • Bradford Horton Xtra haven't removed meat sels for chicken and trad reared casserole steak this week, had about £70 or so and they are still there.....amazing. Not only that but CS just scanned in one pack (luckily the most expensive) to refund the steaks so got back more than I paid and the same with the chicken breast bags....ho hum

GOTW posters had paper over the £20 off etc offers..

    Mobile poster issue..
Right dont know if anyone has remembered the issue about the poster which is out of date. £20 off a handset when bout with £20 airtime" poster out of date on the 17/09/06..bought two different mobiles on 20/9/06. Duty manager wouldnt give a r&r and Adrian russell wouldn't. After leaving the store i went to another branch and he asaid "yes it is a r&r". so next morning spoke to that adrain and he said "nope". few hours later after studying the poster I notice the * is only on the second line which states "£10 off handsets with £10 of airtime" so the top line doesnt have a * so dont think this poster did run out on the 17th as poster was still up for the top line!
I rung Cusotmer service and explained it to a guy called Andrew and he totally agreed with me..even spoke to his section leader and he agreed..said he would give the branch a call and give me a call back.. he rung me back within a minute for more details. Then promised another fone call back within half hour.. 2days later still no call and I cant get hold of this Andrew as there are 13 of them he work there. Here's the twist...I recorded all the calls.. his return call on my mobile and the first call i made to him. where do I stand now?? Got HO saying "No" and got this mysterious Andrew and section leader saying "yes" which i have recorded.

Do you think ive got a chance of get my r&r? Any suggestions??

    Pleas help!!

Just spoke to my OH about this - he is a copywriter - first off all he said there was no chance and then he came in and asked if it said offer or offers after the asterix and it says offer so it does read as if it it only the £10 deal that finishes on the 17th. I hope so - am having the same battle.

    Oh I enjoyed that one.

4 CS staff all arguing saying that I was not entitled to RnR on a phone when overcharged (save £10 when bought with airtime)
Asked for manager, off toddles the CS staff who evetnually come back and say "give her the refund"

RESULT, miserable CS staff, you'd think it was coming out of their wages. I wish I'd gone for the K750i now at £149.99 just to really rub the salt into the wound
    I haven't got one!

I think there should be another way of communication and way for people to goto the shops at the same time. Maybe a protected forum and only invited member ? Martin is this something you could do for us ?
