Oh Thanks for this. Do they just take my details over the phone and deal with it then?

Do you know if anyone been sucessful with doing this with Kevin Kelly at the HO?

More people than you can possibly imagine. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Just give them the details of what happened and I have no doubt you will be collecting your r&r

And yes, quite a few have had success with Kevin Kelly (although Ive had no dealings with him myself)

This is where the problem lies then clearly, !!!!!! it would be so simple to resolve surely? this really shouldn't have happened so many times across the country, the process has a serious flaw and needs to be reviewed and enforced, take away the voluntary element, That should read
    Never
    Never
    Never
    Never
Stick a human in anything and there is bound to be a balls up

Absolutly. Unfortunatly it is a small part of a much larger communication, and rightly or wrongly some of those other aspects carry more weight. Filling the shop, for example, usually sits pretty near the top ;)

Anyway....if it was done right in the first place there would be no need to worry. The skip should always be used in these circumstances :D Turning the poster round seems to be asking for trouble.

  • My post was made in an attempt to answer the question quoted in it. I was not suggesting they do not care, I was trying to illustrate the "pecking order" between a CS assistant at Dundee and a Store Manager, and why the Store Manager might over rule them or not follow their advise.

fair comment, I had a drive since reading it so somewhere along the motorway the tone got mixed up. No misquote or simular intended.

    Thanks- Just one more question...
Do you think the fact I've accpted the R&R on game means that now I've accepted the solution, therefore the matter is closed.
What do I say if the HO say something like that? or if they say we can't over turn the individual store decissions.
Sorry I'm new to this and not very good at it.

    Question fo Constantine.

I bought some pre packed smoked mackrel the other day labeled £7.92. The small SEL was £7.94, and a larger SEL was £4.89.

I went to claim an R&R, and eventually got it, but was told that they 'don't usually R&R on price per kilo pre packed items but they would this time'.

I have not come across this policy elsewhere, but does one actually exist..... i would be worrying to the rest of us if it did.

I'm not trying to answer for Constatine here......but Ive had that excuse thrown at me a few times...A compliance manager actually brought his policy book with him to show me where it supposedly said that.....but I didnt read it that way.....and HO authorised a full RnR

I have never seen anything to suggest per KG items do not apply. If the price per KG on the pack is higher that the price per KG on the SEL, without the barcode being overstickered with the new price per and on a catch-weight item, then it is an overcharge. The price indicated on the shelf is lower than the price on the item/through the till.

As long as it was definatly the same item, I would pay out on that no problem.

This was the guy who told me he would bar me if I went for the full RnR...I did....and he did.

He came to me with an inch thick A4 book and showed me a section which talked about mispriced "per kg" errors.....As I said....I didnt interpret it the way he did,

On 2 specific occasions when I encounted this, Beef joints were the culprits.

If they decide to reduce the kg price of a certain size of joint......why dont they move the unreduced stuff to the other end of the chiller.......

I saw this in 3 stores today......2 weeks after I had filled both my freezers and half of my brother's freezer with it.....They seem to think its correct to do this....although as I reported a week gone friday....as panic buying had set in(friday)....all the £5.18kg joints had gone....leaving all the £6.48kg joints with 2 sels...one £5.18kg the other £6.48kg................both describing the remaining beef.

I can understand what they are intending to do.(giving discount on larger joints)........but why dont thy use common sense, and seperate the two.....Same happens with Finest beef....£7.29 and £6.29......

I watched a few ladies today pondering over the £5.18kg sign and picking up the £6.48kg joints....

The £5.18kg sel actually describes the £6.48kg beef better than the £6.48 sel does.......
