Yes, that absoultely what i meant! But I did live in a racial abuse area, some people round here is very rude with those who are not English, but I am sure the Tesco's manger is not one of them!
    Ask yourself two questions.
    Do I like being me?
Would I be happy if my child turned out to be like me?
If your answer to both is yes, it makes no matter if you are fat or thin, black, white or brown, short or tall, good looking or ugly, young or old, understand this and you will never lack the confidence to deal with others on equal terms irrespective of whether or not they believe you to be equal. People can only intimidate or discriminate against them if you let them by reacting to it, no reaction, no reward, no acknowledgement, act like you never heard the remark be oblivious and requests your rights as if they were a mantra.
Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.

Together we can make a difference.
  • Don't know. If a customer has been overcharged, I honour the terms of the policy.

Maybe its because they have a training need.

Maybe its because they feel it is the opposite of what they are there to do (sell stuff, not give it away).

Maybe its because they feel they are dealing with "customers" who are abusing the poicy for personal gain.

Maybe its because they are dealing with people who display similar behaviour patterns to someone who is trying to scam.

Surely regardless of possibly being "someone who is trying to scam" if a customer takes up an offer for sale of say an xbox and game - save £20, and pays for it, the customer is reasonably entitled to the £20 discount that is offered

If a manager has a big issue about it then make sure that the store doesn't make the offer available

Visited a store today that had yellow shelf edge labels - "Save 20 when buy Xbox 360 or PS2 and game of the week" and "save 10 when you buy PSP or DS and GOTW" (Hoorah) However, Game of the week pictures covered over with white paper - chart list still visible - I asked member of staff what GOTW was (for PS2) - he said that they weren't due in until tomorrow - said I wanted to buy one now for B'day present, interested in saving 20 quid - said I should try tomorrow as games should be available (???) and member of staff from entertainment section would be there to assist. What do you think???? will R&R work if they tell me GOTW and I am overcharged??

Not an expert in this but do own a 360 bundle courtesy of Mr T :D

Would say you are definitely in a much, far stronger position if it is advertised on the shelf ;)
  • Ignore the racist idiots around your area (and anywhere in the world). Their comments merely indicate the level of their own ignorance and do not reflect on you in any way. Be proud of who you are and where you come from. Be self confident and show that confidence in your every day life. Show strength and you will find people are less likely to try it on with you. Never feel that you need to just accept what is happening because of your nationality or age.

Taxiphil i have only the utmost respect for your serial console aquisition!

But do you get these all refunded at store level or via KK / JL

If so do they question getting multiple R&R's?

Not that i was thinking of getting another free xbox 360:rolleyes:

About 50% have been at store level through argument/persuasion/determination. The other 50% have been authorised by various people at Dundee after the store wouldn't budge. I must have been lucky because most of the people I've spoke to at Dundee have been really helpful, taken my side (quite rightly so) and taken command of the situation. I've never had a situation where a store wouldn't allow Dundee to overrule them.

I've actually only spoken to Joanne once and never spoken to Kevin.

Dundee have never raised the issue of me having had multiple R+Rs. But I'd have no qualms whatsoever if they did mention it, I'd just laugh and say "yes, many of your stores seem to have pricing problems, don't they!?"

Whilst not offering any advice - i'm really not very clever, i wish you the best of luck in getting your R&R and fully agree with MyUserNamesTaken

  • Just a quick change of subject, I went to the Tesco Extra in Ashby and got £50 worth of meat. The CS girl was spot on, having a laugh and a joke about people who go into stores purposley looking for overpriced items, I told her that I assumed the difference in price between the SEL and the pack would come off at the till.

She told me about the "meat man" who actually takes as much as he can find. She couldnt stop laughing about him as they actually have a special tannoy announcement for when he comes in and he is greeted by a member of the price integraty team down the meat isle who remove all the SELS after he has taken all of the mispriced stock before he gets to the till. Also the "phone man" who between him and his kids wiped out over £1500 worth of phones in one go.
She was really funny and actually pointed out a few other things that were mispriced while I was checking the SELs with her.

Sorry if im muscling in on anyone elses turf by R&R'ing this store but the CS staff are all so nice that I will be hitting this store every day. The CS woman also said that they always honor the policy if the SEL is wrong.
