  • That depends - do you mean a Store Manager or a Manager within a Store?

A Store Manager is responsible for a £1m/week business and to be frank, your average bod at CS Dundee does not come close to telling him what to do if he does not like it. What disciplinary action?

A manager who purports himself to be a store manager, ie tells me he is a store manager but has much worse dental care than the average german shephard (dog).

CS instruct him to action a refund but he refuses saying he can do as he chooses and HO CS cannot overrule him.....theoretical scenario of course ;)

Yes, that absoultely what i meant! But I did live in a racial abuse area, some people round here is very rude with those who are not English, but I am sure the Tesco's manger is not one of them!

Ignore the racist idiots around your area (and anywhere in the world). Their comments merely indicate the level of their own ignorance and do not reflect on you in any way. Be proud of who you are and where you come from. Be self confident and show that confidence in your every day life. Show strength and you will find people are less likely to try it on with you. Never feel that you need to just accept what is happening because of your nationality or age.

Got a full R+R of £209.94 on a PSP (white) and Tekken today. First of all, many thanks to all on here who've provided the relevant info over the last 48 hours.

It was the standard "you're only entitled to the £10 difference" load of cr*p, followed by me phoning Dundee, Dundee phoning the store, the store arguing with Dundee, being left standing there for 30 minutes while the manager disappeared, etc.

The experience was truly awful and I was in the store for nearly 90 minutes, but eventually my perseverance paid off. I was dealt with by a caveman-like skinhead creature on the CS desk who was hostile, lied repeatedly, swore at me, treated me like a criminal, demanded my name and address and then said he would circulate my details and my description to all stores in the area, and tell them to watch out for me. I only dealt with the store manager very briefly but he was also a vile thug who was extremely rude to me, and had an overpowering stench of BO and bad breath (or maybe it was faeces, I wasn't sure). I was almost heaving from the smell at one point.

When the caveman said "I'll be watching you if you ever come in here again", I said "Don't waste time watching me, watch the prices in your store!". He then turned around and said to a colleague under his breath: "I'm going to deck this tw*t in a minute".

A typical shopper would have been reduced to tears by what I had to endure today. It was absolutely disgusting. It's only because I'm experienced at R+Ring and have built up my self-confidence, thanks in part to this wonderful forum, that I managed not to fall apart.

However, the lady at Dundee that I spoke to, Lynne Devlin, was superb. She said immediately that I was entitled to full R+R, tackled the matter quickly and efficiently, and stood up to the lies of the thugs in the store.

Taxiphil i have only the utmost respect for your serial console aquisition!

But do you get these all refunded at store level or via KK / JL

If so do they question getting multiple R&R's?

Not that i was thinking of getting another free xbox 360:rolleyes:

If managers aren't sanctioned for voluminous RnRs, then why do some managers get all up in arms as if you were trying to take their sofas from their sitting-room at home?

Not meaning to be aggressive. I take your word for it.

Don't know. If a customer has been overcharged, I honour the terms of the policy.

Maybe its because they have a training need.

Maybe its because they feel it is the opposite of what they are there to do (sell stuff, not give it away).

Maybe its because they feel they are dealing with "customers" who are abusing the poicy for personal gain.

Maybe its because they are dealing with people who display similar behaviour patterns to someone who is trying to scam.
Who or what was I before you came in to my life
    I am not sure
  • Just a quick change of subject, I went to the Tesco Extra in Ashby and got £50 worth of meat. The CS girl was spot on, having a laugh and a joke about people who go into stores purposley looking for overpriced items, I told her that I assumed the difference in price between the SEL and the pack would come off at the till.

She told me about the "meat man" who actually takes as much as he can find. She couldnt stop laughing about him as they actually have a special tannoy announcement for when he comes in and he is greeted by a member of the price integraty team down the meat isle who remove all the SELS after he has taken all of the mispriced stock before he gets to the till. Also the "phone man" who between him and his kids wiped out over £1500 worth of phones in one go.
She was really funny and actually pointed out a few other things that were mispriced while I was checking the SELs with her.

Sorry if im muscling in on anyone elses turf by R&R'ing this store but the CS staff are all so nice that I will be hitting this store every day. The CS woman also said that they always honor the policy if the SEL is wrong.
  • These were from two different post by two different people about two different managers (i think)
had an overpowering stench of BO and bad breath
has much worse dental care than the average german shephard (dog)

The only thing I can think is that they have spent so much of the last week talking s*** that it has tainted their breath a bit.

None of the above is relevant, Constantine. The policy is quite clear, as was the advert starring Prunella Scales. If an overcharge occurs, the customer is entitled to a full refund. It makes no difference if the customer purposely went into the store looking for the overcharge (a la Prunella Scales in the Tesco Ad publicising this very policy). An overcharge is an overcharge. Tesco is in the wrong, not the customer taking advantage of the policy.

  • Visited a store today that had yellow shelf edge labels - "Save 20 when buy Xbox 360 or PS2 and game of the week" and "save 10 when you buy PSP or DS and GOTW" (Hoorah) However, Game of the week pictures covered over with white paper - chart list still visible - I asked member of staff what GOTW was (for PS2) - he said that they weren't due in until tomorrow - said I wanted to buy one now for B'day present, interested in saving 20 quid - said I should try tomorrow as games should be available (???) and member of staff from entertainment section would be there to assist. What do you think???? will R&R work if they tell me GOTW and I am overcharged??
