  • I assume that this is what happened in Joto's store, then. Smart manager, that one. :p

I had a feeling they could do it.

Ask Joto which store this is please.........as I've only come across one smart manager....................and he's on here!!!!!(apologies to other managers on here that i dont know about) lol

If managers aren't sanctioned for voluminous RnRs, then why do some managers get all up in arms as if you were trying to take their sofas from their sitting-room at home?

Not meaning to be aggressive. I take your word for it.

I saw it as more like they were refunding from their own wallet :D
  • Thanks for the replys so far guys.

I felt that if I had accepted the refund for the game and took the products then I was accepting what had been offered - hence the refund for all products. I did say to the manager that I would take it up with CS.

    Hi Guys,

I am looking for some advice. I purchased a PSP console and the so called game of the week from a store this evening. the notice stated "game of the week - Tekken.....Save £10 when purchased with a PSP console".

I purchased both of these and the £10 did not come off. I therefore went to CS to r+r. The manager refused and just offered me the game as an R+R. Is this correct? the way that I see it is that it is a multisaver item. I.e - If I purchased two packs of sausages and it was two packs for a fiver and I was overcharged then I would get a full R+R. Am I in the wrong?

I got a full refund on both the console and the game in the end as the manager would not back down but I do still have the receipt. Can anyone give me some advice who may have had a similar issue before.
    Thanks in advance.....

I would have thought that once a refund is accepted then the matter is closed . ??

I would mention to HO CS that you felt intimidated and under pressure to accept the refund ;)

Y'know, I don't think it is possible for a store to conceal r & r's. It is automatically reported when actioned. And I still have yet to hear of a manager being challenged over value/volume.
Manager's have been controlling r&r for a very very long time through various practices, intimidation and evasiveness are just the visible symptoms, recently we have all seen the vultures descend, the impact has been to put it politely noticeable and the ability to conceal r&r's reduced by the shear volume of them, I wasn't lying when I said I have seen some scary scenes, I have most of them to be honest were being conducted by customers, some of them however by staff, the pressure on c/s teams and managers has been ramped up by the nature of the latest r&r lottery prize and the obvious backlash from some of the more unsavoury types fearing they might lose out on their refund having spent cash they couldn't afford to risk in the first place. It is relatively easy to "blend" r&r with other loss to conceal it when it is only a small amount.

No Tesco breached their contract with the customer by not honouring r&r, the customer accepting a refund after the event does not turn back time and alter the contract already breached.
