Eventually agreed with her that we would scan DS and GOTW and if the discount came off then I would accept that I was wrong. Took it to the till and presto no discount. Full R&R given ... but.
Went round to the next store for a Xbox 360 and GOTW and had a problem. Went through the checkout and no discount. Stood in the long queue at customer services to collect it and waited 10 mins for XBox to arrive. Once I got it pointed out I was overcharged. CS took me to the shelf and the posters had all been removed. CS took me to a member of staff who said a manager had removed the poster. Manager then appears, takes receipt from CS and says "your description has been circulated following your visit to the other storeI won't be giving you a refund and I'll be keeping your receipt". Told him he wasn't keeping any receipt and took it straight out of his hand. Asked about my £20 overcharge and he told me to leave the store!
Any advise on my next step?

Trouble is, that manager will deny everything and his assistants will testify in his favour, and that's that.If he reports it fast enough, CS can request the CCTV footage. The OP can also request all data held on him from Tesco PLC (for a small fee). DPA is also your friend.

Sorry for replying to this again, but I think this point needs to be made:
Winnie, remember that the manager has no authority over you or your boyfriend. He's manager of staff in that store. You do not work in that store. Never feel intimidated by any manager in a store. You are the customer, after all. Without customers, there would be no stores. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Whats the story on the latest console fiasco ?, heads must start rolling soon?......surely?
No idea mate. Words fail to convey my contempt for the over paid individual who came up with this marketing master-stroke. My only hope is that the wunder-kid concerned is getting one tenth of the grief that CSD's across the country are having to put up with.
But I am not sure he would have time to get a smacked wrist inbetween all his important free lunches and business critical foreign travel.Who or what was I before you came in to my life

The promotion is fine, but how can they not manage to tie the correct game in with the posters ??, words fail me. I also think individual stores should be checking these out before they display?.....As I am sue you did0

I refused and phoned cs in Dundee and they phoned store and came back to me (did this twice) and still will not give me phone for free - now writing to Trading Standards - is this correct procedure? My husband says I don't stand a chance because offer finished on the 17th.

Constantine, I feel this must be said in defence of those who have been overcharged. If CSD and Management didn't argue, lie and intimidate people in an attempt to get out of honouring the Company policy, they wouldn't have to put up with crap from customers. This is an obvious overcharge due to some idiot sitting up in the Ivory Towers. Management in the stores knows this, as do the CSAs. If the CSAs don't, call a manager. Don't argue it. Honour the policy.
Totally agree about the idiot who came up with this.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

I did, as I (or my PID do) for every promotion. Not sure if that is an official routine, Spa2k would know...
The promotion is pants. Printing an offer like that on a chart poster - a non-standard item (in Tesco terms) - was a nieve thing to do. Chart posters do not form a part of any PID routines, thats why they get missed. They are giving the work experience kids way too much responsability.Who or what was I before you came in to my life

Tried my 1st consol r & r today
went for the ds lite & the lego game
was told the offer was for the normal ds which was out of stock doh!!!
wasn't even offered the £10 off so just asked for a refnd (didnt even get to keep my club card points)
consolled my self with the free 5p of petrol coupon & vouchers for schools - but they did forgot the points for using my own bags again!!
disasterous day in all - nothing from 3 stores & i think my bf will complain if i make him sit in the car again tomorrow"what lies behind us & what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us" Ralph Waldo Emerson0
