Has anyone had them delt with on the same day?
I think Ms. Leith and friends are going to be quite busy on Monday. It shouldn't take too long, though. If you're persistant, I'd say a couple of days max.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Pluschris, I will PM you later in the week and you are more than welcome to observe.
Ok but you gotta promise to leave some of the other stores in the area to me, its a bit of a drive, I'd hate to come home empty handed! :rotfl:Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

Eventually agreed with her that we would scan DS and GOTW and if the discount came off then I would accept that I was wrong. Took it to the till and presto no discount. Full R&R given ... but.
Went round to the next store for a Xbox 360 and GOTW and had a problem. Went through the checkout and no discount. Stood in the long queue at customer services to collect it and waited 10 mins for XBox to arrive. Once I got it pointed out I was overcharged. CS took me to the shelf and the posters had all been removed. CS took me to a member of staff who said a manager had removed the poster. Manager then appears, takes receipt from CS and says "your description has been circulated following your visit to the other storeI won't be giving you a refund and I'll be keeping your receipt". Told him he wasn't keeping any receipt and took it straight out of his hand. Asked about my £20 overcharge and he told me to leave the store!

Head Office Monday morning, tell them you went to the second store as the first obviously had pricing problems and you didn't want another incident but now you wish you had just made both purchases in first store. kondormid wrote:Question for Constantine: Is it possible for a store to adjust the system for that particular store to take a discount off an item?
I think someone else has posted that it is possible for the store to change the GOTW if that helps.
I wonder if the store Joto went to has cottoned on to the problem, could they have copied the barcode from 'Godfather' on to all the security boxes for 'Just Cause'? This would make the offer work wouldn't it?
The only other possibility is maybe Joto went to a Metro (central updates done separately) and everyone else went to a bigger store or Extra? Joto what size store was it, and did you notice any extra barcode on the security box (or indeed has the barcode on the game you've got been covered with another one?).
I can't see how else this has happened.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This may well be over the top, and I frankly admit that I know jack about UK laws, but just this crazy idea:
Does a till receipt, despite being just a scrap of paper, legally become your property after the purchase has been processed?
If so, the manager may have broken penal law by taking illegal possession of what is your legally acquired property. I'm thinking attempted theft or even robbery. Too bad he wasn't armed.
Yeah, I know it sounds crazy.0 -
Today I've managed to get 2 x psp and game of the week. From 2 different stores. Been out all day so didn't know it was a universal problem but just thought I'd give it a try.
Also got a couple of joints of beef from a 3rd store. Posters had been removed from there so who tried this in Beverley?
Well done all0 -

I'd totally agree with this. At the end of the day, it's the store's error, not yours. You have done nothing wrong. It is not the manager's place to question the reasons behind your purchasing decisions, nor is it either manager's place to circulate information about people who have broken no laws and done nothing illegal. I would also complain to HO about the obvious Data Protection issues this brings up. It doesn't matter if you've received a refund from that store or another store the same day, week or year. You have been overcharged. The policy comes into play, regardless of the manager's opinions of you. I spoke to CS a little while back. They said that a store has no right to refuse a refund under the policy just because a customer has previously received a refund from that or any other store. Get the idea?
Take Ben's advice. Ring up HO and explain it all. You were considering buying both items at the first store, but opted for only the ds lite and game. On your way home, you decided that you wanted to purchase an Xbox as well, but did not want to return to the first store due to the problems you'd encountered earlier. This took you to the second store where you were overcharged YET AGAIN. This time, however, you were insulted by the manager, etc, etc...In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

I had a similar thing happen to me last week but on a much smaller scale.
The malteser selection boxes were working for everyone on here, but they did not work for me at a particular store, got some the day before at another store and it did work. i think that individual
stores must have a way of correcting things??0
