Is there a new misprice thread starting? H/L Cod loins and H/L boneless turkey breast fillets both qualify.

What are we doing that is illegal....
I just finished reading todays posts this is growing too quick.
Anyway I know what we do isnt illegal buying stuff getting over charged ect.
But should someone say a TV personality receive a letter or other contact from a solicitor acting upon say a large supermarket chain telling them that there is a problem with somthing mentioned on a website that he runs/owns/pays for ect and that they intend to take action unless somthing is done about it then it wouls be stupid for said TV personality to leave the problem on his website untill he has had the opertunity to make the nessesery enquireries to see what could come out of the situation.
an example
If you received a letter telling you that you were doing somthig wrong and telling you that they would take action to get it sorted out. would you continue to do it or not do it untill you found out if you were doing somthing wrong?
If you continued to do it and it was wrong you could be in more trouble for not acting as soon as you found out you could be in the wrong.
I hope that last bit makes sence.

tbw - interesting business, I wonder if the Terms and Conditions of the Clubcard allow Tesco to use them in this way?0

Nooooooo! I saw both of these today. The £209 one didn't work so I assumed the other one wouldn't either. Think I'll take another trip tomorrow & give it a go0 -

If he has had to pull t'other thread, I would back Martin to the hilt TBH. Very easy for all of us to have a go and say what we'd do in the circs but you don't totally know until it IS you in the firing line. I think it's clear from a couple of things I've got wind of that Tesco ARE fighting back and with what they must have paid out in the last few weeks it's not entirely unexpected, is it? No 'pulling' of the R&R at the moment. I have to say I would love to know if the continued R&R policy despite them getting a real kicking recently is as a result of some sort of agreement the group have made with TS/Govt/whatever.I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0

and on a dvd which had been posted a good few days earlier i think, the cs woman was geniunely surprised at the mis-price
so either the people shopping in the metros are rushing to or back from work to check their receipts
or
people assume that the metros will be correct and concentrate on the bigger storesDebt of £6300 cleared in 5 years, now ZERO0 -
tbw wrote:I'm not being paranoid about being 'tracked' by tesco but the following incident today was interesting !
I was getting an R&r on some braiing steak today - no hassle, very friendly chatty staff joking about how they'd go and look for some too. I'd paid cash and hadn't used my Clubcard and she gave me back my £9 odd and then said she just needed a few details. First thing she asked for was my Clubcard number. I said I'd left it at home and certainly couldn't remember it - thats why it didn't show on the receipt. She looked flummoxed (as did her mate) and said 'but we've got to have the number!' I said that some people didn't have Clubcards anyway and asked what theat had to do with the fact that I'd been getting a refund on an overcharge.
She said 'ITS TO TRY AND STOP FRAUD' ! I asked what she meant and she gave me a long spiel about people who 'make a business out of claiming refunds on stuff and then selling it all on to make a profit'. She also said that some nasty people find a misprice and then go all round the other stores buying up all the stock and getting it for free. I promise you I didn't even blush as I expressed my horror and amazement.
I said that an overcharge is an overcharge and did she mean that if I came in again I'd be in the poop - also said that I shall keep a good look out now you've explained how it works. She laughed and then said 'No, you're OK, its mainly directed at Tesco staff who find out about these overcharges from customers and then go all round the other stores buying the stuff themselves.'
Although they were all lovely and friendly towards me I could sense that they were pretty pee'd off about this - I guess that staff have been accused directly or indirectly of doing this and they don't like the critisism. It tieds in with the nice young man who gave me my Xbox refund with a genuine smile and 'congratulations, do you think I could get one if I went round some of our other stores?' It did occur to me then that staff could just as well take advantage of this (or get family/friends to do it for them) as we can.
Anyway, from what she said it does appear that tesco are looking rather more closely than I would like at our clubcard details. I've used mine up till now cos I don't get a massive amount and its all legit so I felt I had nothing to hide but I won't be using it in the future for R&Rs.
Sorry for quoting it all but it is so good an explaination of something I have been trying to work out for a few days. You see, it is a common fact that the people on the tills are generally the best placed people in the store to steal. It is the reason why you are charged 97,98,99p etc. It is to force them into actually doing the transaction in the till and not just taking your tenner and saying something like "I am having problems with the till can do you really need a reciept".
So, these are the sort of things I think about alot as a bit of an armchair economist (sad git aint I). I was wondering why exactly CS get so upset about doing a proper refund, then I watched and I saw that when they do a refund for a cetain amount they have to go to all this daft trouble of making sure that it is registered at HO. It made me wonder, what would happen if they said something to bluff it off, and then get their mate to pop in or, dare I say, even do it themselves, nod and wink and a blind man come to mind.
I have noticed that now everything seems to be going through a proper check to make sure it is registered as an R&R with HO. I am sure that their must have been a problem with staff doing R&R no matter what posters on here say. If you were slaving for less than a tenner an hour and saw someone getting over £300 quids worth of goods for a bit of shopping human nature and all that kicks in. I do not care what anyone says, it must have happened, we are humans and tesco CS staff are not millionaires.
interesting post about "insider knowledge" and "gross misconduct" too.0 -
