  • The men in black?? Navy or pinstripe! there were more than normal today on't shop floor! Mind you, it wa sin a new little haunt that I had found, and if I was a manager there, I wouldn't want to be in a back room!! even the elderly were givin it large with their bling (elizabeth duke) and shell suits, I'd rather be on the shop floor watching the bu$$ers with my own eyes!!

Regarding the debate over why the thread may have been locked...

A couple of years ago I wrote for a consumer review website called Ciao. There was a bit of a revolt on there when Tesco's lawyers bullied the site owners into removing a negative review of Tesco Car Insurance (basically the author said they'd overcharged her and been rude to her over the phone, and claimed to have recorded the conversation). Ciao immediately deleted the review without even giving the author a chance to verify her story. Soon after that, all the negative reviews of Tesco began to disappear until most of the remaining ones were positive ones.

Anyway, the point here is that Tesco's big guns do monitor the internet and have in the past used the threat of a claim for libel damages to scare the site owner into removing the material in question. The rights and wrongs of the situation don't even come into it; the site owner just isn't prepared to take the risk of fighting the best barristers that money can buy.

I think it would be a very sad day for free speech and consumer rights if Martin Lewis was successfully bullied by the corporate thugs of Tesco, but I would not blame him for it.

What is the success rate for RnR's in Tesco Metro's and Express stores. Are the staff usually on the ball in these small shops? Can anyone answer please?

Got an RnR in a Metro, as tho it had never happened before...Manager said give the gentleman a full refund, said goodnight to his staff and went home...........wonderful.

Cheers for telling me kronen! Gave me a good chuckle.
  • Hi all
may seem like a silly Q but does the R&R policy apply to online shops as well? I have just had a delivery and noticed that a promotion hasn't been applied and when I rang CS they said they would credit the difference and not the whole I amount!!! Is this right, would be grateful for advice before I go storming in mouthing off to them!!
    Thanks

I'm not being paranoid about being 'tracked' by tesco but the following incident today was interesting !

I was getting an R&r on some braiing steak today - no hassle, very friendly chatty staff joking about how they'd go and look for some too. I'd paid cash and hadn't used my Clubcard and she gave me back my £9 odd and then said she just needed a few details. First thing she asked for was my Clubcard number. I said I'd left it at home and certainly couldn't remember it - thats why it didn't show on the receipt. She looked flummoxed (as did her mate) and said 'but we've got to have the number!' I said that some people didn't have Clubcards anyway and asked what theat had to do with the fact that I'd been getting a refund on an overcharge.

Why not give them one of their tempory cardboard cards, at least then thyeywould have a number!

    Mary

    What temporary cards Mary ??..............
