-
hi, I got barred from the local tesco last week for getting a refund on ps2 & game, phoned customer services to ask why, they said they store feel i've abused the rnr policy and they can pass on any of my details and basically i'm not allowed into a tescos anywhere. I've only had a few refunds and they've been accidental. any advice.0

The offer for Tesco Mobiles finished yesterday "Save £10" or something similar(the posters said ends 24th September) Does anyone know if the offer is still on? Adverts are all still up in my local
Why not go down and give it a try? if the discount is applied either pay and get a refund, forget your card for payment or pull out your card and enter the wrong pin twice and apologise and have no other way of paying and you dont want to try again incase you get it wrong and lock the card.0 -
not just me who got a ban then.0

Ole1973 wrote:This is simply not true Little John.
The offer states "buy an Xbox 360 console" .... The Premium pack has the Shelf edge label "Xbox 360 Console" and the Core pack "Xbox 360 Core".
BOTH however SHOULD activate the deal .... AND an "Xbox 360 console" is a description not a title. Had it said "buy the "Xbox 360 Console"" there would be ambiguity .... but as it is written you, as the customer, can only be expected to believe "Xbox console" to mean any xbox games console, even the core pack, which is essentially closer to JUST THE GAMES CONSOLE than the premium pack anyway, which contains the trimmings too (wireless controller, hard drive etc).
And indeed as I have said, the Core and Premium consoles are SET to activate the deal on the system when bought with the correct Game of the week, it is only because the game of the week was incorrectly set up, that you failed to get the £20 discount.
You have been given incorrect information by the store, sadly by taking the refund, you have probably closed the case, sadly.
I had this exact dispute in-store on Saturday. Manager told me that no discount was due as I bought a DS Lite which is not a DS Console. She shut right up when the DS console went through and still no discount. Re the XBox 360, the SEL actually says "Save £20 when you buy XBox 360 or PS2 Console & GOTW".0 -
Little_John wrote:Ths is very true but as far as tesco and legalities go the only item on the shelf described as xbox360 console is the premium pack. so they can say the offer only stands on that item. It sucks but it is a way out for them.
Legaly speaking, Little John, Tesco have to make sure their offers (just like normal pricing) must be clearly defined, and in no way ambiguous. I don't believe this particular issue does involve an ambiguous sign anyhow. I believe the sign to be clear, in that it says you must buy an Xbox 360 console to activate the offer. There is NO ARGUMENT what so ever to say that the customer couldn't reasonably expect that the Core 360 wasn't an xbox 360 console .... when it clearly is .... the packaging even states "contents: Xbox 360 console" .... the packagin must also be devoid of ambiguous descriptions. Overall, if the discount didn't come off, under Tesco's policy (and we all know why the policy was there in the first place) you must be given a full refund on the both products for which the deal was supposed to give you the £20 discount on.
SO .... if the guy above is correct that you can STILL go back and claim the products back, then GO FOR IT MATE !
Good luck0 -
I can't say which store for obvious reasons (they'd twig to me straight away) but on shelf they had the "Buy a PSP or DS console & game of the week and get £10 discount" SEL right next to the value packs. Small poster shows GOTW as Tekken, so bought a white value pack and Tekken - £210 and no discount.
CS agreed it looked wrong and called a manager who eventually offered a £10 refund. I pointed out the poster, so he had to call a real manager who agreed everything looked right and they couldn't work out how the discount hadn't worked. They weren't overly pleased but gave me a full refund and retain.

biglugs, is that just this morning?
So the PSP/GOTW discount still isn't coming off?
PS Congratulations!
edit: woo 1000th post!0 -
Oh Lord.... I've sussed a way of being able to purchase an Xbox plus Just Cause with the Poster on show. Having so much grief from 2 other store in the past 2 days when getting smaller items, I'm not sure if I have the will to put my plan into action !!!0
